WILL the Commonwealth's Attorney be bringing charges against the brutal dog butchers who call themselves 'hunters' and 'sportsmen' in the area?
First off there is no proof that hunters or the hunt clubs in the area have anything to do with these so called dead dogs that were found. Read the attached police report that clearly states there are no suspects at this time and the report is for infomation purposes. Maybe he dug the dogs up he has killed over the years and dumped them threr to be found. The news so bulit this story out of speculation and hear say period.

WRONG!, and IGNORANT.
We find dogs, and packs of dogs, running over the land where we live at Scottsville. It is posted land.
How can we call the owner(s)- as you suggest - when the dogs cannot be caught, and sometimes we have been able to get one in hand, there is no collar tag.
How about this: a law that every dog must be trained to obey the command from anyone 'Come here','sit','tell me your owner's phone number'.
That is about as realistic as your ignorant comment.
No collar no tag means not a hunting dog. All running dogs have collars and tracking collars that locate the dog and to be honet half of you don't know the difference between a running dog and a stray. If you don't like counrty living move your butt to the city.

That is not true, plenty of running deer hounds cross my property every deer hunting season with no collars and no other means to identifly who they belong to.And yes I do like living in the country, have all my life.No I won't move to the city I brought and paid for my land,PAY taxes on it each year and do not want your's or others dogs on it.

The problem is the hunting culture around here. These guys don't see "posted" signs as applying to them because they game the system via the lax dog retrieval laws. The overarching problem here is that Virginia has been unwilling to adequately regulate dog-assisted hunting. In many other states a hunt club has to have unrestricted access to a minimum size tract of land in order to use dogs, and/or there is a "dog season" at the end of modern firearms season. These guys around here set their dogs on a trail across land they don't have permission to hunt, then the dogs drive the game onto contiguous land that they do have permission to be on. This has been a huge problem not just because of the trespassing, but also because they get all the game to themselves during rifle season, and nobody who hunts without dogs has half a chance to get a deer during firearms season.
Thank you for a sensible answer

Does that culture include abandoning non performing dogs? I have friends that treat their dogs that are treated better than most people, but we all know that most are treated in a manner that not even a dog deserves. You know itís true, so donít deny it.

Isn't the entitlement complex of people like 'Scottsville' amazing? Why do they feel entitled to our property?

The victim in this is the hound; the culprit is three-fold: Mr. Mullins, the hunt club, and the VDGIF that hasn't cracked down on hound hunting. How many more conflicts are going to happen before the state steps in to alleviate the situation? Will it take a conflict resulting in the death of a person for them to act? VA is no longer the way it was when Washington used hounds to hunt; property rights are a valid concern. The population of VA is tired of having their property rights trounced on by trespassing hounds and hound hunters. It amazes me to no end that a state that professes to be so republican, allows a socialist activity such as hound hunting to go on. VA has no property rights, the mob mentality apparently rules our state.
