I would hope it would be Long Beach, City Council WAKE UP! The Movie Industry is no longer centered here, it is all over the world and they bring their own people, there will be NO benefit to LB from a Movie Studio! I work in the 'industry' and I know! LB will be left with idle stages and a lot of lame excuses why they aren't producing.

Elon Musk is radically changing the world of transportation, here is LB's chance to be a the forefront of the World!

I personally drive an Electric car and will NOT GO BACK to fossil fuels!

It won't surprise me if Fremont, Ca., jumps into the scene. After all, Toyota just announced they'll be leaving the state-of-the-art auto plant. How can Downey & Long Beach compete with a facility that already has the infrastructure in place?
Well, Juan, for starters we can offer them that huge empty Boeing aircraft plant, you know, the one on the southwest corner of Lakewood Blvd. and Carson St., the same one that got demolished to make way for yet another mixed-use fiasco. Well, forget that idea. Uh, how about we offer to let them build their cars on the Queen Mary? Of course, once they got them built on board, how would they get them off? Bad idea again. Hey! I got it! The abandoned Albertson's on the corner of South St. and Downey Ave. Perfect. Lots of room inside, a big parking lot to store all of the new cars until they all get stolen. Hmm, you're right, Juan, I think Fremont will get the new Tesla plant.

I live in Downey. Many of my neighbors are latino and they are good, hard working people. Downey would be a great place for this company and since it is a small city the legal work that is involved in this type of enterprise would be far less complicated than in a large city like Long Beach.
The company that I work for had to change venues twice because of big city buerocracy. Are you saying that Long Beach has no latino population?
Yes, we did have a huge latino population, but they all left. They moved to Downey in hopes of working at the new Tesla Motors plant. Caramba!

According to what I know the majorities that left over seas went to China and India--not Mexico--jobs of Americans. Anyways, it would be awsome that either city get it. It is vital for the local economy. However, it seem that LB need it more than Downey. Look at the budget cuts of the city.

Sounds like Tesla is the "anybody" considering coming to Long Beach and it doesn't sound like incentives are being offered to answer your question and respond to your statement...did you have anything more to add?

I have to agree with Big John, Downey is now just a little Tijuana. If you want a car that runs have it built in Long Beach by Americans!! Long Beach is a step away from every makor FRWY and the ports. Downey is closed to what? East L.A. Its so sad what has become of a once wealthy Neighborhood like Downey, so sad.
It is sad that racism like yours still exist today..i guess i am happy that you moved out of our wonderful State of California...Downey has lower crime, better schools and a every freeway within 3 miles among many other attributes...well financed, well managed city budget is also something we are very proud of.....And we are very proud of our hispanic cultural and high median income...Actually higher than where you live now...Long Beach is a great city and so is Downey...i will pray that you open you heart and mind to what is right...God Bless..
