AT&T to cut about 4,600 jobs, sees $374 million 1Q charge

Jobs in corporate functions in like finance will also be cut.

Oh, goody. I can tell you as a corporate customer, their service is already very sub-par. Don't know how much worse it can get.:(

I would like to point out that the author of the article is incorrect in that AT & T is not going to cut 4,600 jobs. They are however going to "surplus" the same amount of people.

That term is a direct quote from an AT & T manager.

Honey I'm Home and I got surplussed today. I guess politically correct terms make getting "fired" "canned" "Tossed to the curb" easier to take

I was surplussed on the wireless side over six months ago. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
Heck, I feel honored that my sacrifice helped to fund Ed Whitacre's $159 million retirement package. Anything I can do, boss.
