Symantec: parts of antivirus source code exposed
Symantec Corp, the top maker of security software, said hackers had exposed a chunk of its source code, which is essentially the blueprint for its products, potentially giving rivals some insight into the company's technology.

Off hand, I'd say the Symantec firewall leaves a little to be desired.

They should protect source code from reverse-engineering. Than, hackers spend alot of time to analyse it and make "workable". Time of cracking depends on protection solution utilized.

It is difficult to give another organisation access to everything it wants to see (Symantec apparently shared code with the Indian military) while also protecting your code.
How can you protect it from reverse engineering when they apparently have access to everything?
