I fed my kitten food that was on the recall list. He is very ill. We have been to the vet the past 2 days. They are treating him for renal failure. My vet is very sure it is from the kitten food we fed our kitten. I have been on the phone for 2 days trying to contact Menu Foods to send them my vet bill. I also tried to email somethung to them but surprize my email did not go thru. Or should the bill go to the stores that sold the product to us. And what if my kitten doen't survive this. He is only 12 weeks old and I hope he is not suffering to badly. We are getting fluids in him with a dropper and tring to force feed him baby food and supplements from our vet. Some one needs to be held responsible, and some one needs to be answering their phones and helping the individules that their product is causing such devistation. Frustated is a under-statment at this point.
Carol, my heart goes out to you as my cat is 5 1/2 yrs old and he is still in the hospital. If you watched the 11 p.m. news then you saw me. I am ferious with the manufactures and am thinking of sueing the company, then maybe they will check their products better in the future. My prayers are with you as I know what suffering you are going through.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a site I can visit that would tell me the lot numbers for the tainted cans of Ol'Roy. I am concerned because about a month ago or so my dogs started not wanting to eat thier food. I thought they were just getting picky about what food they ate, so I switched to Pedigree and Alpo and they ate that right up. I think that they could tell that something was wrong with the food, but I am still concerned that they might have eaten some of the bad food. Please respond back at anacole124@hotmail.com if you have any information. Thank you.
Yes it is. Its on the list

I don't know how they did not see the bad food. Our pets are just as special as our kids. Some people can't have kids and their pets are their kids. I hate too see people miss use pets|||

We were on vacation last week till this weekend. We have a friend who watches the house and feeds our 2 cats, Abby and Samantha. Jake, our 9 month old AKC lab traveled with us. We had stocked up on Special Kitty cat food and Ol'Roy dog food from Walmart before we left. They are supplements to the dry food we feed our pets. Sunday on the way home our friend called up to check in. He said all was okay, but he said said the cats were not eating their food as usual. He said that they weren't really eatig at all. When I got in the house and checked the news on the internet I learned of the recall. I check the web and compared the food I had to the recall list. All the Special Kitty was on it, but not the Ol'Roy. We are so fortunate that the cats had their dry food and shunned the Special Kitty (THEIR FAVORITE). We are now hoping that the food we are changing to won't be dangerous to them. Thank God for our good luck and prayers to less fortunate.

I hope that they plan on covering everyone's vet bills. My 15 year old daughter has 4 cats and she always feeds them dry food except when she babysits and gets extra money, then she buys them canned food as a treat. She just bought them some Meijer brand canned food 2 days before the recall. We sure can't afford for them all to get sick. We would not be able to have them treated, and how not fair is that to a 15 year old girl who absolutely loves these cats. Someone should pay. How generous of them to give people back there money who are they trying to kid? Is this supposed to make it all better? They should be letting the veterinarians know that if these people come in with sick pets, that they should bill them for the services rendered. Or maybe we can take the 25 cents for the returned cat food and pay for the bill NOT!!!!!

Has anyone been able to get through to any of the numbers that are listed on the multiple websites? All I have gotten for days is a busy signal. I did get through to Menu Foods on Monday and the lady said that Mighty Dog was only pulled for precautionary reasons. And my dog's kidneys failing were not the fault of the food. I told her she was full of it. That all the dog and cat food's were pulled for precautionary reasons. They are only saying that to save their own behinds. And I told her that I would have to get a lawyer if she wouldn't give me any information. She told me I needed to call a different number to deal with that. And, of course, it was the same number I already had. The one that no one answers. So if anyone has any insight on how to pursue this, please let me know.

My cat started getting sick. She wouldn't eat or even drink any milk for about a week, then she started throwing up this yellowish mucus. I didn't know what was wrong, until I watch the report on the bad pet food. I had purchased Meijer brand soft cat food for her a few weeks ago, and when she ate about a half a can, she wouldn't eat anymore of it, so I had purchased 9 lives soft food for her, and she wouldn't eat that either. I started to really get concerned. Now I know what the problem most likely was. She is slowly gaining some weight back and eating little bits at a time. Last night I had purchased Fancy Feast, and that was on the list, but I didn't know it at the time. I hope she will be fine. We are watching her very closely. Our family would be devistated if something happened to her, she is 10 years old. My prayers go out to the other families who lost their pets. I understand that your pet is a big part of your family, and it is like loosing a family member.Thank You

I can't have children and my dogs are my babies. Some people don't understand how much our pets mean to us. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to my babies becuase they are the world to me. The companies need to take that into consideration and treat the food as if they where eating it themselves. They sure wouldnt eat or feed their children food that was bad.
My heart goes out to all who have lost someone special becuase of this.

It's so sad that they have let this bad food out of the factory.Someone had to know it was bad!Maybe they don't really like animals but to us they are like our children. We have 8 cats and a dog.So far they are all doing well and I am very thankful for that.To the familys of all the sick and dying pets, you are in our prayers.I pray they will find out what happened to these foods and that they make sure it will never happen again.God Bless

Go to "Pet Connection" and they have a lot of information about that and they are telling people to let then know who the vet is so I think they are paying the vet bill.

Kendra,
I am so sorry you lost your little dog. I have four large ones and two small ones. I should say I had four. My black lab Stella died last Sat. PM of kidney failure. I took her to the vet specialist hospital in KC but they could not save her. I spent $2,000. We buried her on Sunday next to my first horse and have been so sad. She went everywhere with me. I fed her Ol Roy Premium amd when I looked for this food in Walmart this AM there was none. I can not be sure this was the cause and the vets did not know and thought it was from drinking antifreeze. The part that is frustrating is that we live in a small rural community far from traffic and the dogs are free to roam, even though they lay on the porch for most of the time. Who is to say one of the people that loved Stella did not give her some food that was contaminated. For now I stopped all comercial food. The hotdogs are only .77 for six for now that is what they are getting. Please know that my sympathy is out to you. Whenm I arrive home I have one less anxious nose to greet me.

December 17th 2014 I purchased Meijers Main Choice wet dog food and gave it to my dog this morning. I just got home an hour ago. He has been foaming white foam out of his mouth and has vomited in multiple areas through out the house. There are pieces of this dog food in the vomit. I plan to contact Meijers food distribution center in Grand Rapids Michigan regarding this matter.
