How the H... is this racist ? Finally Large compines are returning to the PORTS . Yes this will displace most indepedents . Race has nothing to do with this. I am a Indepedent. Since you brought race up I am white . Since 1980,s or indepdents have taken the majority of the port work . I am a commercil opeator who is indepdent . I have seen the quality of trucks operating within the ports and the majority of them are JUNK. There is know way the indepents of any color , cluture , sex , can make money saftly doing " Transfers ' from the ports at $90.00 . These trucks / tractors where held togeter with baleing wire , spit and a whole lot of luck . I see a lot of bald tires. I could never make money working the port . I do not like indepdents being forced out but I think for the ports will be for the best . I have worked indepdent for over 15 years .Since this offends you get over it or better yet if you are a indepdent get out of the ports. You will be happier . We need quality with safty in the port,s .

There are so many problems...one of them is with the cost of fuel. Some truckers have been working hard trying to stand up together to send a message to the "government". This Wednesday, August 27, 2008, Americans Protest Around the Country. I hope that the truck drivers in all capacities are able to get shoulder to shoulder if their capital is local to where they will be - i.e., Sacramento. Nobody says you cannot organize your own protests local to you at refineries, etc.

This is not just about our fuel price gouging, but it is a big start. We all have our differences/opinions. There are many many problems, but We, The People need to set differences aside and START GETTING TOGETHER - It is OUR GOVERNMENT! Please burn up those cbs across America with getting some continuity, momentum, strength, power.

Thank you!

I think David Bowers should be named president of Swift. He's the only one that seems to know what is going on in the marketplace.
