Good luck, freight is slow, but 2300 miles isn't that much, you should be able to get that, unless you are out of Phoenix and they send you to LA, then you sit. Maybe dedicated run would be your best option.

There is no reefer side at Swift. If you expect 2300 miles per week then you will have to get on a Walmart, Costco or Target dedicated fleet. Your best bet is Walmart but you will be paid .32 per mile or less and give up any semblance of a personal life. Most likely you will have to slip seat and live within 60 miles of the Walmart Distribution Center you are PAF'd to. With 5 years otr, why did you decide to drive for Swift? There are plenty of viable perishable haulers with freight who will treat you and pay you much better than Swift. Good luck, you will need it.

The Wevel is right when he says freight is slow, though there are signs that it is improving. This last week I managed 3,000 miles but am sitting in fontana waiting on a load. It suprises me that you are coming here with 5 yrs otr. Last I heard they had a hiring freeze on experienced drivers in order to save money. they pay 5 yrs experience between 39 and 41 cpm depending on wether you are east or west of the Mississippi River. I myself make 36cpm with a little over 2yrs otr. I have been treated fairly well and have no complaints, although it was tough getting through this winter because freight was terrible. Most (though not all) who have trouble working for swift generally bring it on theirselves (late picking up or delivering, traffic and or weight violations, wrecks, logs, etc...). I do have a good dm so that does make a difference. I have heard horror stories about some of them. I have a friend here who has had alot of problems with dm's, but generally after talking with him about it I usually find out he brings most of it on hisself through lunkhead decisions. Good luck.

Also I drive all 48. It will probably be tough to get a dedicated gig right now the way the economy is(though I don't know this for a fact). I was offered a dedicated gig with one of the paper companies and turned it down last year because my dumbass didn't know at the time that they guaranteed a certain amount paywise eachweek wether or not you actually made the miles. That would have been nice this last winter.
