TOTAL BULLCRAP answer. You're not taking home NET PAY=$821.00/WK, perhaps GROSS PAY=$821.00/WK as a Swiftie company driver. I know as I drove for both MS-Carriers and then Swift after the merger. With est 33-35% deduct from GROSS PAY for state(NY)+ federal+health insurance contrib+401K contrib, I would have to be paid .50/Mi x 2500Mi/WK or .42/Mi x 3000Mi/WK=$1250-1260/WK GROSS PAY.Do the math my man and you would see the facts! It's more likely $821/WK GROSS PAY which breaks down to .33/Mi (2500Mi/WK) or .27/Mi (3000Mi/WK).If you have some driving exp,.33/Mi is certainly doable even at Swift. For a new drvr, it's more likely .27-.30/Mi.No way ANY NEW DRIVER at Swift nets $821/WK driving SOLO not TEAM.Don't get me wrong, I hold no animosity toward Swiftie drivers:you choose who/where you want to work. It's a thing called free-market capitalism. As such, some companies in any industry choose to pay the least and take advantage of their workers.Swift-The Mgmt Sucks NOT the drivers. You can drive for Swift;JB Hunt;CR England(Swift of reefer carriers) and you will read/hear derogatory comments. You don't need to defend your pay.I worked there for a very brief time after the merger and left for a better paying driving job elsewhere.Like it or not,Swift is a TRAINEE company, like Schneider National, and others who hire inexperienced drivers.People have to start somewhere. I did at a now defunct AR trucking carrier.Don't BS yourself or others bragging over your pay.I know the deal;and, you ain't netting that income as SOLO driver, without running team or as trainer/team.If you like Swift, good luck! Mash on it but don't crash on it!
