Acme all but gone. Even more creepy is the likes of Save A Lot taking over. Even worse than a Save A Lot is a Save A Lot franchise. Same for the rest.

These 'franchise' owners are relics or trying to capitalize on that long era of the 'supermarket' or 'grocery store'. They simply cannot compete with other chains like Aldi or the Walmarts and Dollar stores.

Acmes around here are big felines not even allowing the Dollar stores or Kmarts in the same shopping center to put in their one refrigeration ailse.

The unions helped Acme grow then something happend in the late 80s early 90s. Now the unions seem to be an impediment also stuck in the by gone era of the supermarket that didn't even have to compete with the Walmarts of the world. There are no entitlements to a customer, price or profit in supermarket world. Especially in the world supermarket museum pieces called the unions and idependent owners.

But no unions means lower pay which means the bottom of the barrel working in many of these stores. They know nothing about customer service, their inventory/selection or even how to ring the register. Comes back to dog dump management and owners.

Ah yes, those were the days-'the supermarket' that had no competition.

Darn that competition now I can't take my customers for granted.
