So Doctor Stumblebum who used to get sued out of business you find OK for that next heart or brain surgery. Yep, the lawyers aren't gonna get you. But your doctor has nothing to fear from those few drinks he had before opening you up. I'm sure he really appreciates that.
There are other ways to deal with incompetent doctors and other health care workers, besides enriching lawyers and bankrupting the whole medical profession with outrageous malpractice insurance premiums (which in the end are passed on to all of us anyway, as all taxes and fees are).

Now if a doctor screws up forget the malpractice insurance, maybe we should lock him up for doing surgery under the influenc eo drinking why not, they lock up drivers who are drunk, so it now time to lock up those doctors who are to winds to the south to do surgery, & we still can keep the malpractice premiums down,& lock up those incompetnent doctors who like to drink before coming to work

The copay is up to the company you're working for. They set the tier of insurance you are getting & the copay you are responsible for. The higher the copay, the less your company pays for your insurance.
Your absolutely right and since I work for a very small company total of 5 employees including the boss he had to cut corners somewhere so he could afford to make payroll each week.

I recieved a letter from stony brook today. Stony brook said "don't worry about any letters from bc/bs. everything will be settled before the end of the month. we don't know why bc/bs sent that info out."
I took my son to sb er 6/09, he hurt his ankle. sb er gave him a little black plastic soft cast. first they asked me if i wanted the cast, but there is no real need for it. well sherlock if that is the case then don't give it. got the bill last week:))))lol
Stony Brooks charge for the little black PLASTIC cast was- get ready drum roll-$400.00.
Is it greedy hospital making insurance companies greedier or is it greedy insurance company making the hospital greedier? One is not better than the other. It's a big greedy rat race. That is this countries down fall! GREED! GREED! GREED!
