bean counters and newsday

the bean-counters in county government? it's obvious that the newsday editorial page could care less about any costs to the county tax payers. they laugh at it. it's simply not one of their concerns. so, never ever believe newsday when they say saving the tax payers money is the reason they are in favor of something. it's always a smoke screen and never newsday's real reason. indeed in recent years newsday has found that bogus calls to "save the tax payers money" is a useful device to advance their very left-wing social agenda. but this editorial gives their game away, people that actually try to save the tax payers money (like steve levy) are bean-counters standing in newsday's way of "improving long island".

The college is much better off without pippins, she did nothing but take unecessary trips and feather her own nest, and now she is flying away.
She helped lead the way so that the college can now control it's own budget without any oversight, which is a dangerous situation for the tax payer. Now more unqualified relatives of college officials will receive useless jobs and all at the tax payers expense, and like there wasn't enough deadwood at the college already. All though it has always been a dump for county cash, Under pippins watch it has become nothing but a gigantic compost heap.

The SCCC is an extraordinarily inefficient place, which functions as though there are NO budgetary concerns at all. Dr. Pippins insisted that she be treated like royalty, travelling extensively to burnish her own image (quite successfully, it appears), and surrounded by an entourage while on campus.
Despite the fact that the College is supported by taxpayers, there is virtually no taxpayer-input at the College. The Board will never oppose or even question any proposal put forth by the College administration. No one will make any attempt to reign-in expenditures, new hires, etc.
While the rest of Suffolk County's government tries to reduce costs, there are no such pressures at SCCC.
The next President should be a proven administrator-- someone who can at least try to "do more with less."

Shirley Robinson Pippins was never qualified in the first place; she was just an affirmative action appointee.

I am shocked that newsday would feel that this double last name, tax suckin phoney was a loss to anyone. It is a joyous day anytime an affirmative action bum looses their position. The extortion that people of color commit daily on the working man is out of control.
