As opposed to some women laying on her back and spitting out children knowing that full support and full responsibility for the children is not there?
I agree! Once on welfare with children, any other child there after would be supported by the parents! Stop enabeling these people who have no brains or demand they have their tubes tied! The county should post a reward to those who turn in any mother on section eight where the father or any man is living in the home. I think that would save the county lots of dollars. Rewarded for negitave behavior, I don't get it, it teaches nothing but bad behavior.

Because the bible thumpers would stand in the way of any sort of birth control or population control.

<quoted text>I have officially changed my self image from "hard working american that pays his bills" to "pig teat". You should make ball caps with that slogan; maybe an American flag with 'official pig teat' embroidered on it. Once upon a time, if you were on welfare, you couldn't have luxuries like a phone or a TV. Now, handouts are made convenient to your work schedule! What a country!
Welcome to the Democratic party...where redistribution of wealth and "leveling the playing field" runs rampant; where individuals are given jobs because of their demographic rather than because of merit; where working hard for your money results in a bigger chunk of it going toward supporting those who don't work; where illegal immigrants violate immigration laws but cannot be questioned by police about their citizenship status; and where private, multi-billion dollar corporations receive taxpayer aid to compensate for their incompetence.

Next time vote Republican...they still believe in personal responsibility and earning what you own.

It figures someone from the Illegal Alien Haven Greenport would have such a warped view on how to distribute my money. Greenport used to be a beautiful place until the welfare mongers,(Illegal Aliens) infested that town.

I doubt you make THAT much money and I am as distressed by our illegal problem as anyone. Focus your ire on that, not on people who ARE trying to better themselves.

I make more than you think, which by the way is none of your business.

So ILLEGAL ALIENS "are trying to better themselves" on the backs of the LEGAL TAXPAYING CITIZENS TAXES; ILLEGALLY? Like I said “Warped view from Greenport’; Wise Up!!!!

Learn to readfool - I said focus on the illegal problem - NOT on those trying to better themselves - which is what the story is about - duh. I never suggested we should support illegals. But a hand up to those LEGAL citizens in low-paying jobs to keep them working and not on full welfare is a good thing if you face reality. YOU are warped and illiterate too.

Once again the local government uses your tax dollars to better serve the illegal invaders. We need to get rid of the invaders, their collaborators and the government that has betrayed us.

This story has NOTHING to do with illegals. You need to prove legal ID to get social services. And this story is actually about people who actually have JOBS. Illegals get free medical, WIC checks, private charity, off the books incomes, drive without need to insure their cars, never get 'second offenses', etc., but I am pretty sure they can't get social services - but they don't need it with all the other bounty.

Has anyone heard of this CHUM Orginization? They are buying up foreclosed houses and renting them to registered sex offenders. There are 3 houses, holding up to 10 sex offenders per house right next to parks and schools in Bayshore and Central Islip. CHUM is located on Suffolk Avenue in Central Islip, but they are not registered with the Dept of State, even though they are listed as Chum, Inc. The sex offenders are using Social Services money (welfare) to pay the rent.
