Blessings to Morgana's children. May their lives continue uninterrupted by the nightmare of their father's actions. May their mother be remembered with love and light. May they find the courage to forgive the very sick man who fathered them.

God bless this family. So very sad.

I am so proud of the jury coming together, unamiously guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, first degree murder...

I sat in on the trial and I can't believe how deep the denial is of the "missing two hours"...oh, I mean, the memory blank... His story made this so clear of a case in my mind. Now, if he'd only said his last memory was of being at the top of the stairs and then woke up at the hospital because someone found him unconscious on the side of the road....this could have been interesting...but he made this very clear and clean in my mind.

Blessings to the children. Your mom is your guardian angel and she will be with you always...She was a beautiful soul, and still is!

Thank you Betheny for saying out loud what so many of us feel. May all three children walk through life knowing that friends unknown to them wish them well.

To the children.....stay in therapy for as long as you feel the need, do not rush to forgive your father now. The time will come that forgiveness will flow from your hearts, but not yet.

Grieve as you should, for both the loss of your mother (Rest in Peace) and your father --- for it is the loss of both parents that is happening here....and this is what saddens me the most.

Gravitate to the people who love and support you, they will help you through all the stages you are going to go through.

Know that your inner light shines even brighter now because you hold your mothers' light as well as your own.

Like so many my heart goes out to the children that have had to endure one of the horrible things I can imagine!! I didn't know their Mom but her life speaks of a woman of great compassion and love----that energy is, thankfully, still here---in her brave and wonderful kids. It's trite to say that she will always be with them (altho I feel sure she will)--- not much comfort for them right now!! She is, however, forever etched in their hearts and will undoubtedly walk with them for the rest of their lives. Nothing can bring justice to this situation---only forgiveness perhaps in time, but I am thankful to the jurors for giving this man a long long time to reflect on what he did and the effect of it on so many!!

According to an earlier article, Marshall Doud was taking anti-depressants. Japan's version of the FDA already officially recognizes that these SSRI anti-depressants are causally related to violent acting out against oneself (suicide) and others (murder). Even the official list of side effects for these drugs admits that a small percentage of patients will have violent outbursts and/or commit suicide (gotta read that fine print on your legal drugs). Some people just can't properly metabolize these drugs. This is known yet the drug companies along with law enforcement continue to turn a blind eye to the part these drugs play in murderous psychosis. Most, maybe all, of the school shooters were using these drugs, as were most of the moms who killed all their children in such horrific ways. Locally we have the example of the former UCSC Chancelor who jumped off a roof while taking these drugs.

The most frightening part is that millions are taking these drugs, most w/out supervision. Since a small percentage of these patients can be expected to have these side effects, that means there are literally hundreds of thousands of walking time bombs in our communities just waiting for that one incident to set them off. Doud, you are held with the lowest of the low in prison, now bend over and enjoy your rewards...
I'm sure Morgana's father is going to provide a secure future far better than you ever could have hoped for.

Very sad story and I'm glad justice will be served. All the americans on anti-depressants is also a sad story. Why are so many people on them??? Life is hard, and at times depressing for everyone. Pharmeceutical America has got to stop, lobbyists are ruining america and americans.

Yes, it's all the fault of those evil pharmaceutical companies just like Obama has said. But I'm getting kind of confused now! I thought Obama was raging that everything was the fault of the evil financial market manipulators just a few months ago. I saw Obama say so just last Feb. So who will be the next villain? Isn't this just like a radical Saul Alinsky trained follower to continue to pick a new villain to rage against and vilify every month or so to distract from one's socialist agenda long enough to utilize the manifested crisis push another pork laden, civil right reduction socialist plan to screw the public!

"Duh," you are off topic. Obama has nothing to do with this story, nor does he have anything to do with the SSRI story. Keep your political crap to yourself. This thread is about the Doud family.

We take your point but as some writers ourselves we know that associative thinking is natural. Fairly, this forum is about anything that the article it follows brings up for people. We respect your wish for the Doud family to be honored, and feel sad for them ourselves, yet it really is not for you to censor people's responses to a newspaper article in such a broad way. People are going to think and say what they will about this murder and aftermath. It's a *news* paper. You know: journalism; First Amendment. Relax. If you want to pay respects please do! Nobody here is stopping you.

My deepest condolences for the Doud children and Morgana's relatives. I hope this verdict brings you some peace. I've never believed Doud's "memory loss" story myself.

Why do men murder their wives? 30% of women murder victims are killed by their spouse, ex-spouse, or other intimate. By contrast, only 3% of men are killed by an intimate.

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Libra

If you had a bad day with your partner yesterday, today is the day to kiss and make up. The Moon blends with Neptune to create a romantic passion; this may be a little over the top, but sometimes a bit of drama is in order. Those of you with children may find them acting up, but if you listen closely, you'll find they really just want and need your attention.
