Democratic Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce, his Republican challenger, state Rep. Josh Mandel of Lyndhurst. >> I almost NEVER vote for a republican, but, in this race I am absolutely voting for Republican state Rep. Josh Mandel. And, if boyce would happen to get elected, and I pray that he doesn't, I will NEVER vote for a Democrat again! You can bet on it! This little creep should never have been APPOINTED in the first place!

Kevin Boyce is rewarding his political cronies right and left! I'm sick and tired of hearing about corruption in the treasurer's office, Ohio deserves better than this. Mandel is spot-on in his accusations and Ohio needs him to bring a sense of integrity back to Columbus.

Boyce is a short-termer for sure. Any job he gives to his friends should be classified as a temp position.

Boyce was was terrible for our city when he was on council, now he is terrible for our state as Treasurer. We HAVE to vote him out in November.

Mandel it the type of leadership that we need for OH. He has always stood on principle and acted with integrity. Electing Boyce and his cronies is something that OH cannot afford.

This is not the first time a scandal like this has surfaced while Boyce has been Treasurer. Boyce has continually let Ohio and its citizens down. I'll be voting for Josh in November!!!!!!!!

If Boyce has done this much damage during the short time he has been in office, what other harm could he do with another four year!!!!!!!!!!

I really wish i knew someone in the Treasurer's because then i would for sure be guaranteed a job after graduation!!!!!!!!!! Oh well I guess I will just have to be hired because of my qualifications.

Boyce's hiring practices and "competitive bidding" processes smell awfully fishy. Something's amiss and frankly I don't want corruption in the office that is responsible for looking after our state's pension dollars.

Re. the article in today's Dispatch, "Treasurer Candidates Allege Cronyism, Corruption," you state, "[Josh] Mandel, who is Jewish, made several critical comments referring to the fact that Ahmad and Alo and his wife attend the same Islamic mosque." and then go on to quote Mendel himself, who writes on his website, "We deserve public officials who use tax dollars to hire people because they are qualified - not because they belong to their comrade's Mosque." I would like to make it clear that my own religious affiliation is neither Muslim nor Jewish. That said, I find this sort of religiously based attack particularly offensive. It is the equivalent of the claim that because a politician is Jewish he should be suspected of dual loyalty. These sorts of shameful political smear should have no place in public discourse and bring discredit to any politician who makes such accusations.
