'McDonnell did not disclose any of the thousands of dollars in gifts from Williams, including a $15,000 check' for his daughter, and McDonnell's office did 'set up cabinet meeting for Star Scientific CEO' to pitch his product.
Sounds like quid pro quo to me. Just because VA state law allows for legal bribery, and the 'dietary supplement' didn't cut the mustard should be immaterial.

If nothing illeagal happened, what's the gripe? Even the former DEMOCRAT AG stated so...not everything has to be declared, although it's usually better to disclose everything or accept nothing so as to avoid even the perception of wrong. Sounds familiar to other VA officials having had issues...they were canned though.
