"The January report shows strong increases in sales of automobiles"
This confuses me - I thought the auto sales in January were off 40-50% from last year.
What are the facts? Does this mean that we no longer have to "bail-out" auto companies?

Measuring sales by dollar amounts is deceiving and is not accurate.

Inflation increase prices and as it does, sales in terms of dollar amounts rise as well, even without any increase in sales volume.
