Another tie to the past goes away. As time goes on St Paul will be "just another Minneapolis". Sad

The Twin Cities media has pretty much ignored Travelers' success over the past few years. Travelers is the now the biggest and arguably the most successful commercial P/C insurance company in the US. Travelers has withstood the financial collapse, and that receives minimal coverage as well.
Intersting that this change in address has received coverage.

And that leadership development for principals grant is sorely needed in our district.

Travelers was savvy enough not to just throw money at District administrators' pet projects, stood back and said "we see a definite need here we would like to partner with the schools on filling."

God knows, if you've encountered some of the building principals hired from outside & promoted within the St Paul Public Schools of late, you would agree this grant filled a definite need.

The game of installing building principals within the SPPS is far too politicized as it is. Hopefully, the pros from Dover at Travelers can come in and teach a thing or two about 21st century management to the bozos at 360 and their spawn. It is sorely needed.

Now if we could just get a remdial program going for school board members who drank the koolaid before hiring temps in the supt job, we may just make some progress in the provincial capitol schools.

There are plenty of bad educators in the schools who need retraining or to go. But this school district continues to ignore the very bad principals who do far more damage than any one teacher could ever do. What is the Grand Poobah Education Plan from Heaven to deal with them, hmmmm?

and laid off lots of us since 2001
Ever since Fishy-man has been inniggurated to the co. He has slashed and slashed. Take it from one who worked at Global Medical Malpractice and got laid off with the rest of the whole division. They didn't do anything to retain the grunt of the laborers just said buh-bye french frie. They won't ever get my business or respect ever. Losers who don't give a damn.

Coincidentally, Mr. Fishman has recently listed his townhome (1200 Mount Curve Ave, Minneapolis) for sale...

It was very apparent from the beginning that Fishman came to get the deal done between the two companies and move things back home to CT. Things were not good in the industry, and time for a slow bleed out of St. Paul for SPC was on the Traveler's side. That is what has happened. SPC (and Fishman) simply "purchased" Traveler's to quell some of the local uproar that would have occured had it happened the reverse way.

Soon the old SPC will be some small portion of the Travelers. Handling a few lines or some facet of the business. The STA logo is gone, and so will the umbrella someday in the not too distant future. No one will even raise an eyebrow. That is the way this whole thing was intended from the start. Kudos to travelers for being savy and very patient.
