Maybe the FDA should investigate why there is a such a high occurance of diverticulitis soon after colonoscopies. The colon is filled with air expanding to unnatural width then after the procedure is completed it returns to normal size. The issue is that many patients have weak spots in colon wall and these areas suseptable to tears which cause diverticulitis.People are never warned about this but it is a quite common injury that requires surgery to repair colon wall.

Maybe people should simply hydrate properly.
Hmmm... A fluid and electrolyte depleting substance and it's the drugs fault... Not the person who didn't follow directions?

I know MANY people who have had colonoscopies and I NEVER once heard this. Anyone else hear of this?
WHATEVER you do, do NOT put off your colonoscopy. This is the most preventative and curable cancer when caught early. Just make sure you drink TONS of water when you are prepping and you will be fine.

Last year the laxative I drank for a colonoscopy gave me a horribly painful kidney stone. It's the first time it's happened and I've had colonoscopies for 10 years... I guess it's important to stay hydrated? This stuff is scary.
