they probably haven't figured out where he hid all the assets
likely foreign or offshore accounts
if he is out he may have to access them to live which could tip off the authorities

The white guy who stole 1.8 million will get probation and be allowed to steal again the black guy who stole less than $100 will go to prison for years. notice the outrage at the black guy but none at the white guy. That's why our country is broke we make all kinds of allowances for the white collar criminals who bankrupt the entire country while spending a fortune to imprison poor people.

wow no one took his passport, but the courts gave him time to realy go and hide the loot and move it around put it in other peoples names and get out of town
