What is next? It seems there is no control over the quality of our food. I just ate this bread the other day and who is to say whether there is metal in my body which may result in Cancer in 15 years? I certainly would not be able to hold the company liable! Horrible...

to look like the age of made from scratch is upon us if we want quality and safety.
It's not any less safe, there are just a lot more entities to report the issues.

I don't hold it against the company, it reported it in a timely manner and recalled the bread which you can get your money back. I will continue to buy Sara Lee products, I like them.

I'm glad they put out the recall before anyone had problems, they aren't trying to cover it up.

Now I am going to have to buy metal detector before I make a PB&J sandwich. What's next? Anthrax in my pancakes? It's all Bush's fault.

Where was your computer made?? I do not buy made in the U.S.A. products. I have lived in China plus numerous other countries and have never been sick or had any disease.

Relax Melissa Girl, Stainless steel is used to tack bones and other human parts together everyday. You might get cancer in 15 years but you could be laughed out of court if you sue. LOL
Saralee's steel will most likely pass through the gut without a problem. Sara and you both can expect to live long productive lives, none the worse for the incident, unless you try to get past a metal detector and miss a flight, you should be OK.

Sorry, I put other people in coffins or urns made in China. I have not had a request for a flashlight yet.
Do you want to be the first? Where was your computer made?

Evidently, maintanince discovered a hole or two in the sifter, which means they were doing their job correctly. Sara Lee did the right thing even though those "small pieces of metal" will go right through your digestive system with damage to it. Kids swallow money all the time.

Why is there always someone on these posts that attempts to analyze the issue with some technical reply? Do they work at Sara Lee on the machines? Let me take a stab at this. The retractor assembly in the loaf butter spraying machine broke a chain drive gear off cause the shear pin in the holding bar got jammed in the drive solenoid. Therefore, the metal fragments got introduced into the butter spray nozzles. The sifter wasn't able to pick it up cause the sifter is located about four machines up the line from the butter spraying machine. <snickers>

The largest coffin company is in the USA. Even though some urns are made in China.
