Yes, but chances are very less. Generally whenever a new company takes over such gone companies, first thing they do is Cost Cutting. And under cost cutting, reducing the employees is the first step. Specially in this financial crash when experienced ppl are also worried for LayOffs, I dont think Freshies should wait.

Govt of India is planning to give the bailout to reduce the impact on the industry and to keepup the confidence in employees on satyam so that they can work on the existing projects, and also govt of india is trying to gain faith and cofidence on the indian it market by assuring the international clients.com ing to your question as kavita and kelvin said it is better to search for new job instead of waiting for the satyam's joing , i hope you already started job trials.I do understand that your fear is as you are 2008 passed out what are the chances of considering you as fresher when 2009 passedouts comes into the market , but don't worry on this as most of the companies will consider you as a fresher, because recriuting companies know the situation of the IT market in 2008,(hopefully)if the market is going to good in 2009

Bharat,

I sincerely think you should consider other options.

At any point, whenever a company is liquidated, the shareholders are the people who get payed last. First dibs are for the debtors and then a bit lower in the line come the employees- last are the shareholders. This is why all corporations try to maximize share value, becasue if the person at end of the line is making money, it means that evyone along the line is doing well.

In this case we have seen how the share value has plummeted from such a high to a place so low. Prices of shares do depend on demand and supply but all the demand thats keeping the price afloat is the enws of a takeover, in which case people can make a small profit by selling off shares...sooner or later all share prices reflect their true value i.e. that of assets - liabilities which in the case of satyam is horrible.

All thats keeping the company afloat is the government which is playing its cards low becasue of the elections that are coming soon. To my knowledge even half the real news hasnt come out. All these statements about 'clients still trust satyam' is rot. I've dealt with clients and nearly- strike that- ALL clients are ruthless when it comes to their contracts and demands.

Satyam is on its way down...you might hear rumours, especially in the forums about 'employees still support satyam' and more ludicrous statements like 'I am still proud to be a satyamite'. but look it in a very calculative way- Money has disappeared, A LOT OF MONEY...running into the billions of dollars...and all that money has to be paid for...the government will do everything it can to make itself look good and minimize the fallout, all they're doing is slowing down the inevitable- the complete crash of satyam...

As for your dilemma, worrying about whether you'll get a job from satyam or not is of no help...even current employees of satyam ar eplanning on leaving it, including a large number of the management. For SE's it not as much a problem, but when it comes to management, if they dont leave now, they'll be tainted forever- No other company will touch them. Harish is right...laying low for a while will not be a problem since all HR people know the situation now, so you wont have to worry about competition.
I would advise you to look for another job or spend time on skill building...Try looking at constructive ways to improve yourself...Build up your resume...there are a number of certification exams you can take such as the Sun Solaris Java certification, the oracle certification and several otehrs, all of which will REALLY help you in the international job market- they;re not eay, but you have a lot of free time...which people curently working dont have- I failed the SUN j2ee certification the first time i took it becasue i was on a project and didnt have sufficient time to prepare...Trust me...they really DO matter and spending your free time on them will be REALLY helpful...
