Hi,
I bought a "SanDisk Ultra 1GB SD card" three months back. I was using it in "Canon Powershot S3IS camera". Yesterday I was trying to understand various settings in my camera. After I took 2 or 3 snaps, In display-mode I saw one weird file where the camera couldn't read that file. I thought that somehow the SD card was currupted. So I remove it from camera and tried to format it using my computer. But Format also failed. I choosed both FAT & FAT32 file system. In both the cases the format failed. After that my camera started giving error "Memory card failure". Any Idea what happened to my SD card?

Are you sure the camera can handle the speed of the Ultra card? This card is mainly for camera that are 7mp or better. Can you format the card in the camera?

Hi,
The 1GB SD Flash Card sold generic at Micro Center worked no problems in a Sansung Digital Camera for about 3 months, then while taking a photo with fresh batteries locked up the camera. I had to pop out the batteries and remove the SD memory.
In the computer, neither Explorer nor a DOS window would addess this SD Flash memory. No format, no Fdisk, nothing available would access this drive. Another stick worked fine.
I suspect that these memory SD flash sticks corrupt from static electricity and should be kept in plastic antistatic holders to protect them.

Hi, I got a Polaroid SD 2Gb. After using it in a camera at Graceland, came home, took it out, and put it back in the camera, it said card error. When I put in the PC internal and external reader, it read the card in a different language. However, all the folders are named in a weird language and are inaccessible. Can someone help me please?

Hi there... If you`re unable to actually read the card you may have a bigger problem. This happened to me not too long ago where the actual controller in the card got corrupted. Hence I could not even get the card to be recognized. I tried a bunch of different card readers, software, direct connection to the PC, nothing worked. The only way to recover the files then, is to send it away to taken apart and read with a special device.

I had a really great experience with Recoverfab http://card-recovery.biz/us/service.php Their prices are reasonable and once they received the card they had my files available to preview that day! If your unable to get your card recognized by the pc, I would suggest this route.

Hope you get your photos back :)
