Sandisk MP3 Problem with Audible.com

I've purchased two Sandisk MP3 players over the last two days - an M230 and an M240. The first one I had to return because of a problem playing files from Audible.com . It played any other MP3's or WAV's beautifully, but when I loaded the .aa extension files from Audible and played them back, the player would seem to "stick" momentarily during playback. These little audio pops would occur every 15-20 seconds with files in Format Quality 4.
Anyway, I just exchanged the M230 for the M240, and have the same problem with the 240. I've contacted both Audible and Sandisk support, and they're stumped. Anyone else have the same problem, and is there a solution?

I have exatly the same problem with my M240 -I use format 3 Audible files. I planned on contacting Sandisk and Audible but it sounds like it's a waste of time :-(

If you have problem with your M200 series player with Audible. Here is something I suggest you could try.
0. Back up all of your files
1. Switch your device into MSC mode
2. Format it under "FAT" NOT "FAT32"
3. Unplug and let it finalizing
4. Try to download your songs and audible now to see if the problem still exist.(Note: Do go online to upgrade new firmware. I think there is new firmware up there for download)

Oh one more thing. Try download audible with format type 4. I think you will probably encounter less problem with format type 4 than type 3. And since there is not much a difference in memory between type 3 and type 4, why not use type 4 since you can listen better with type 4
