Raytheon celebrates 20 years of missile construction at NAPI

Raytheon employees Wednesday celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Navajo-operated missile production facility at the Navajo Agricultural Products Industry park.

You should run for Navajo Nation President. Seems every President from Pete MacDonald on down couldn't find their way out of a phone booth.

Your education and experience could help the Navajo people and stimulate economic development, as well as accelerate the ability for Navajo people to embark upon careful strategic business decisions this administration as well as other administration CAN'T SEEM TO GET A GRASP OF.

Great story and I have been following your career after hearing you speak at a Native Economic Summit Meeting in....(of all places and don't grimace people) LAS VEGAS!

I've visited this factory before and sadly learned the truth that the highest paid employee at Raytheon NAPI makes 10 USD an hour after 15 years of service. This really breaks my heart to see a proud nation who brought the end to WW II and the end to the Japanese Empire subjected to modern day slavery. With great pride, I'm pleased to say unlike Raytheon's sweat shop, BHP Billiton "the Big Australian" is a highest paid employer (and might I add with great benefits) on the Navajo Nation. But not only limited to that, BHP donates generously to many Navajo schools through various endowments, Navajo scholarships through local governments and the Chief Manuelito Scholarship fund, community corporate giving, and the proud major sponsor of the Northern Navajo Nation Fair. Shame on Raytheon!

I think Mr. Joe would sell his own mother if he had the opportunity. Anyone who takes advantage of his or her own people is inhuman.

Raytheon makes some good sheet pal! I have had the opportinity to use their Product on a bad guy now and again a few years back - it worked fine. Our "stuff" is much better than "their" stuff..thanks to all the Raytheon employoees - good on ya!

Navajo Agricultural Products Industries (NAPI).

Raytheon doesnt have to use Navajo, but could rather go someplace else like the Laguna Indian Industries.....

it is up to Prime contractors, ie. Raytheon, around the US to use sub=contractors as much as possible as it is the Federal law.

However, with the likes of Premier Obama....he may institute "State" policy and assume control of corporate hierarchy such as AUtos, and banks.

What is stopping his administration from assuming control of other industries.....nothing can stop him....if he likes...

Funny how BHP gets to fly under radar of the Cap and Trade, because they are a foreign company. You will see the same with XOM (exxon mobile) So who does this cap and trade legislation effect? Local gas producers that's who. natural gas burns way cleaner than coal, but you don't hear Lujan, Tiegue or Heinrich support the "Change" we need to clean up the air in the 4corners. Read The Pickens plan, it makes sense. BHP has been in Ben Ray Lujan's (Daddy's too!) pocket since day one of his term. How's that hope and change working for you?Cough, cough, hack, hack, weeeeez.

Thank you Mr. Joe for providing leadership and envisionary examples to the people of San Juan county.

You've shown leadership to all races, not just Navajos. You are a well-respected member of the community and partake in organizations and associations that are for the betterment of humanity, not just for Navajos.

Just an FYI for those of you who don't know Mr. Joe:

He's listed in the annual of featured young men and women who are "Outstanding Young Man" of America and..
Earned his education from the Ira A. Fulton Engineering School and...
worked for General Dynamics, SRP scholarship recipient...and
is a champion wrestler and a serious roper who began a roping association with local hero Shane Hatch, of Kirtland.
Mr. Joe also served as the regional leader for American Indians Science Engineering Society and...
worked tirelessly for education in the sciences when not at work...
He also gives his time and expertise to those who wish to go to school and invites educated Navajos to share their scholarship journey during public gatherings and functions.
He's helped raise money for a terminally ill guy and he also donated thousands of dollars worth of food that was to be for the company picnic to a family (an employee) who died.
There are many good works he's done, but you will find out only from fans like me.
Cheers and applause for Mr. Joe. I ask that you not continue to bash him, for he's a great guy, just ask those who serve on New Mexico Leadership with him, he's also a member of the class of 2009-2010.
