RJR Tobacco cuts off free cigarettes
“We will evaluate that. We will also evaluate the competitive arena because we will not make ourselves unilaterally uncompetitive by discontinuing the promotions.”
Smokers in North Carolina and 24 other states will have to get through March without free packs of cigarettes from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. via Charlotte.com

If it says 'FSC' on the pack, they can keep 'em. I wouldn't even take those for free.

Everyone knows that there is no such thing as "Free" Cigarettes. They use those to keep you addicted so you spend more money. They use those to keep you addicted so you get sick and die faster. "Free" Cigarettes are oxymorons. Free cigarette smokers are just plain morons.

Big tobacco has packaged bad health, illness and death in a sanitized little pack which they sell to suckers. Suckers become slaves and make stock owners in cos like Altria rich.Trouble is the slaves keep dieing off so the owners are always looking for new suckers. It's been found that young people who are easly duped are the best suckers and also easy to make into slaves. One neat thing tobacco cos have learned is when they pitch their adds to 21 year olds, younger kids want to try smoking even more that when the adds were targeting the younger kids. Such is life, and in this case death.

I'd take them. Even if I don't smoke that brand. One can always sell them for a profit. There's another caveat for you rANTIS. Most smokers left on a deserted island without cigs, probably would not smoke found cigs if they weren't the right kind. What does that tell you? |

I'm sure I will get yelled at for making this point but.... Tobacco whether some like it or not is big business. What happens to all of the employees who work for the industry if we make it illegal or put such restrictions that it goes under? Hell of a lot of people will be with out jobs right? What do we do with them? Whats the answer for that aspect? Its fine to be high and mighty but some do rely on a paycheck from these companies.

It doesn't matter to them. They don't like anybody with ties to tobacco companies. |
