Based on American Cancer Society statistics, one of every 10,000 nonsmokers gets lung cancer. If the rate of lung cancer among heavy smokers is 20 times greater, then out of every 10,000 heavy smokers, 20 will get lung cancer. This means that less than 1 percent of heavy smokers (20 out of 10,000) get lung cancer.

Makers and sellers of cigarettes are Mass Killers, nothing else. They have taken bad health, sickness and Death, put in in a easy to use sanatized looking pack and sold it to suckers. Makers and sellers of tobacco products should be first be tried for their Crimes against mankind. Next they should be dealt with in the same way other Mass Murderers have been dealt with.

...And 100% of people who died are dead. Big deal. The problem was the publics ignorance of the addictive qualities of the product until it was too late. The deception by the tobacco companies has been recognized and hopefully the public is now more informed. So they change the color of their box, I don't care. But what really bothers me is how smoking finds its way into movies and TV. Sometimes subtly, sometimes blatantly. Can't think of a plot that smoking was necessary for other than the hooking of the masses.

Attention Hard Core smokers and dumb smokers.

Just admit it...the people voted for the bans in the states that put it on the ballot for the people to decide.

If your state did not have elections for the bans, the person the majority of the people voted for made it law.

Mainly because the lines are long. But the real deal is... you can't smoke while you are standing in lines, so you say screw it..

The people are not silly. They don't want you. You and your habit have been banned forever.

Now you know what happens every time you smokers are too lazy to go vote...There is not enough of you to make a difference anyways.

Let's look at my latest poll numbers...22.2% of smokers are felons and can't vote, 12.9% don't have transportation, 40% are mental and don't know how to vote and the rest are too stupid and lazy to vote.

That is why in the good ole days..politicians handed out smokes for votes...they knew smokers were dumb enough to drive 30 miles for a 15 cent pack of smokes.

If people are influenced to smoke because of TV and movies, then they watch too much of it.

One day a radical group WILL get on a major bandstand about people wearing clothes in public. You can name 1,000 reasons why with dirt, odor, chemicals, etc, etc. If you insist on wearing them, you can stay home.

Just visit the ACS site and do the math.

Oh, I forgot. rANTIS are incapable of thinking for themselves.

I know, just petition your government to do the math for you.

Who CARES ?

In my view all cigarette packaging should be white packages with black letters saying "Cigarettes" on one side and a skull and crossbones on the other...

Simple enough for smokers to understand I hope...

COPD is the forth leading cause of death in the US. Around 80% of people with COPD were, or are cigarette smokers. Google COPD and learn something! Don't just check out one site about COPD, try 4 or 5 sites.

Not really Sheri. As you of all people know, young people can make bad judgment call after they see something only one time. Under the right setting (almost always paid for by tobacco cos.) smoking can be made to look like the grown up thing to do.

Rethink your attempted logic and then use real math.
