Everyone I know who wants a job has a job.
Everyone in front of me in line at the grocery store and WalMart and Home Depot etc seems to be spending plenty of money on wine, beer, cigaretts, lottery tickets, flat screen tvs, cell phones, ipods, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, landscaping materials, etc, etc, etc. ALL of which are non-essentials.
According to your own criteria, the economy must be doing just fine.

There's nothing wrong with WalMart; they're no different than any other big box chain. They came into my little town and provided jobs and tax revenue we needed, in addition to some much needed competition for local businesses. Being a "touristy" town, prices for every day goods tended to be a bit high. Competition has brought down prices to something a bit more reasonable, and no businesses have folded because having WalMart actually brought more people here to shop instead of driving to another WalMart town 40 miles away.

In addition, they took an ugly unused railway freight terminal right in the middle of our twin towns and developed that lake front property into something other than an overgrown eyesore. Of course WalMart wanted to build in an empty field on the main road north of town, but the city & county insisted it was the old railyard or nothing. For once WalMart caved.

I would prefer nothing but "mom & pop" stores carrying made in America products, but those days are long gone.

"Posted" or advertised job quantity, has nothing to do with the actual number of jobs that are available. Companies routinely advertise and screen for future employees that can be hired with less overall compensation than current employees. It is common for companies to turn over 20% of its staff annually. The revolving door policy it is called behind the scenes.

3.5 million job posting means little to the 25+ million out of work.

I'm not the one whining about not having any jobs available.

There's 3.5 million of them, take your pick.

The unemployment is not going down. You think we are stupid. It is that the number of workers needed is decreasing, because we have 5,000,000 fewer jobs then we had in 2008. It is still the economy, and we are not stupid.

The number of employed is going down, the number of people looking to be employed is going up. The population is increasing, yet democrats tout success, they all must have been indoctrinated to the new math in government schools. We are not stupid.

Obviously you're too stupid to know that 8.1% is less than 8.2% which is less than 8.3% which is less than 8.4%, etc.

Cry all you want, the official unemployment rate has been dropping steadily all year.

The drop in these numbers means only that less people have filed first time unemployment claims. There are many more that have filed claims for other government programs, because their unemployment ran out, than have actually found work.

Goodgle the U6 number. That counts everybody, not just who Obama wants to count. Look at the jobs available, lowest in history. The unemployment is 14.5%......so face is son....you lies will not float like your cheap chit you keep spreading.

They should apply for one of the 3.5 million jobs CURRENTLY AVAILABLE instead of sitting home drinking beer & watching tv and bitching about there being no jobs. That's why we need to cut off unemployment welfare & food stamps, etc; it's a great motivator.
