According to the article, "Just before parliament made its decision the Fukushima Daichi plant exploded and went into meltdown. The world's biggest industrial accident to date unfolded before the eyes of the world."

That is false!! Although thousands of people died from the earthquake and the following tsunami, there are no documented deaths resulting from the damaged nuclear power plants. Moreover, the world's biggest industrial accident to date occurred in Bhopal, India, in 1984. Apparently, in their zeal to attack nuclear power, some people are more than willing to lie. Here is some information on the Bhopal disaster, in which thousands of people were either killed or permanently injured:
