Dear Ms Post,
I would like your opinion on a situation that just happened. Because of overflow company next door where my daughter lives we took in relatives of her husband over the Christmas week. They were very appreciative and always were quiet coming in and going out. They just used the bedroom and showered nextdoor. What I don't quite understand is why couldn't they take off the dirty sheets and place them in our utility room, and why couldn't they give a token gift--e.g. a bouguet of flowers? I'm not looking to be paid but isn't it common courtesy to want to give something for a favor that was extended?
Am I thinking incorrectly?
