The article had this: "But Treasury yields are reacting to the headlong spending by the U.S. government to stimulate the economy and, by pushing up borrowing costs for home buyers and businesses, they pose a risk to those efforts."

Let's be honest. Obama and the Democrats are doing everything possible to rip apart the economy.

- Taxes are going up.
- They're going to tax energy (cap and trade - which is all pain and no gain)
- They're pushing the car companies to make cars that people don't want
- They're going to rip apart the healthcare system

At the same time, they're bankrupting us with ginormous spending on useless projects. They're doing nothing to help businesses.

For whatever people said of Bush's economic efforts, at least he worked to help businesses grow. Yes, he spent way too much, but Obama's deficits are four times the size.

Obama complained about Bush's spending and now Obama is spending much more!

This is going to take 5 to 10 years to sort out and fix.

We need to get rid of these liberals/Democrats.

Time for our powerful leaders to do something new!!

Complexity chokes business. Would you rather deal with a corner business or a government bureau?

Yeah, and given everything you said, how do you figure we repair the mess?

Businesses have reaped the benefits of tax breaks for years. Their companies have grown and profited enormously. They also have mismanaged themselves with no oversight, yet their companies have been subsidized with American taxes. This is part of the reason we are enjoying the mess they've left us with.

One of the problems is that most Americans are so self-absorbed that neither you or most of us don't get it. Our grandparents saved and bought what we could afford. Then greed and selfishness engrained itself as the "American Way" and neither our society or financial system could handle it.

Now, how do we get out of it? Don't blame everything on Obama. He has brilliant minds advising him and like it or not, we need to clean up this mess before America is owned by people other than Americans. Actually, it's already happening. Look around who has large amounts of stock in American companies, banks, and real estate.

It really makes sense to blame the President who has only been in office four months. Really smart thinking.

For crying out loud. Enough of the blame game. This has nothing to do with liberals or conservatives. These problems are years in the making and very serious. We dont produce anything anymore and have been running our economy on debt for years. The real estate/mortgage shell game is up...and look what happens...economy tanks. Why? People cant use their houses as ATM's anymore thats why. There is way more to it than that...but when I read these dimwitted "it's liberals/conservatives" fault stuff I just want to punch somebody.

Thanks.

Everybody wants to pin the blame on someone (Alz, I'm electing you as the poster child on that). You're right that most of us don't have a clue. There's one thing running this country -- corporate greed.

No, it is time to start pointing fingers to an administration that had no clue coming in and is without a clue today of what they are doing? This President has torn GM to threads and we have yet to see the worst of it. And where are all those jobs we were promised with the ridiculous stimulus spending spree. How about another community organizer for President. Congratulations.

We're probably going back to the Carter's years shortly: high interest rate, high inflation rate and high unemployment rate.

Obama is Carter 2.0 (same crappy stuff, just costs more)

Really? What 'brilliant minds' are advising him? Pelosi? Axelrod? You must be joking.

Anybody that would try and defend the 3.6 trillion and massive taxes is either a diehard liberal or just plain nuts.

People have been and will stay in denial. There is NO WAY around this mess the Dems are making without massive inflation. Hope everybody has a ton of cash in the bank to draw massive interest on or they are going to be hurting.

..and deadbeats that want a free ride....you want to cry about people using the 'blame game' and you end by blaming the corporations...well done idiot!

There is plenty of blame to pass around, but right now people have to look to the CURRENT administration to change the course....THAT is why Obama was elected for 'hope and change', not 'taxes and debts'.

Alz, I have always liked your comments over the past year or so (ever since I watched that Modern Liberal YouTube video about 10 times), and I have copied and sent some of your comments to my conservative friends.

Did you hear Rush yesterday? That was awesome! I am quarter of the way through reading "Liberty and Tyranny" by Mark R. Levin. Are you reading that, too?

Keep up the good work. These Modern Liberals, or statists, are killing us so fast these days!

Back to the article...we haven't seen the worst of this yet, hold on tight!

Calling ALL Conservatives! You are being asked to choose to fight for our U.S. of A.! We have been hyjacked, and we are going down, unless you do your fair share of blasting through to the Modern Liberal twisted drones, whose leader is a teleprompted fool! It is typical of the lowest common denominator to resort to calling someone "idiot" when they don't have anything constructive to say.

Simple minds buy the propaganda fed to them by the forces of greed and tyranny that keeps them subjugated and fearful, finding an enemy and scapegoat in those they can perceive as weaker than themselves.

Obama is worse than Carter.

He's doing all of these things despite the knowledge that these policies were failures with Carter and everywhere they have been tried in the world.

One of the differences now is that some parts of the world will gain much power at our expense. During Carter's time, the Soviets were an issue, but they weren't much of an economic threat.

Now, China is salivating at taking advantage of our Obama-created weaknesses. I say that it's "Obama-created" because Obama could be doing the right things which would help the economy and this limit our exposure to the Chinese.

Instead, as we all can see, Obama is doing all of the wrong things. He isn't finished raising taxes yet, ruining the auto industry, ruining healthcare, etc.

What a mess.

Thanks, I am reading "Liberty and Tyranny" and it is very good.

For those who don't know much about it, you can see it at Amazon or just go to a bookstore and read the first 30 or so pages to get a taste. It's very good.

You are so correct - Alz likes to blame ALL of life's problems on liberals/democrats. According to him, repugnants/conservatives walk on water. What an idiot!! I also agree with you that corporate greed is the very cornerstone of all of our economic problems. Big corporations are who puts these politicians in office to suit their own self-serving needs, with no regard for anyone but theirs. THIS is where the problem lies.

So, you are saying you would rather have Bush/Cheney back to continue to hand bailouts to Corporate America, while screwing all working class citizens? You don't think the war on Iraq was a BS spending spree?? GM has torn THEMSELVES to shreds, due to their self-serving greed, BOTH management & union. Their management SHOULD be "torn to shreds" as they are nothing but a bunch of greedy incompetents. What you conservative right-wingnuts don't get is that these companies WERE cutting working-class jobs all along, just to save their own a/s/ses, and continue to collect obscene salaries and bonuses for failing!!! You think continuing to allow these companies to perform in this manner will HELP our economy - if you do, you're smoking WAY too much crack.

But the blame can mostly be put on Modern Liberalism. How can I say this?

First, when I say Modern Liberal, I mean the people who took over the Democratic Party in the 60's and are the deep down ideologues. I am not talking about the people who tend to vote Democratic for one reason or another.

Now, how can I blame Modern Liberals?

One of the things Modern Liberals do is undermine or moral foundations. They HATE the teaching of morals and ethics.

So the very tools that humans have developed over the centuries to tame our human faults are attacked by Modern Liberals. See, the human faults affect us all: Liberals, Democrats, Conservatives, Republicans, etc.

BUT, Modern Liberals don't like the teaching of right and wrong, morals and ethics so what do we get over time??? We get more problems. We get more greed. We get more Enron's. We get more corrupt government officials.

The entire system of Modern Liberalism that has taken over the schools, popular culture, the media, etc. is like a cancer to our society.

So I emphatically do pin the blame on Modern Liberalism. It affects Republicans and Conservatives too.

I am NOT saying that Conservatives are perfect, but we try to use tools to help things along and to make things better. When we fail - and we ALL fail - we can look back and try to do better.

Liberals USE the failures as evidence of Conservatives being wrong, but it's the liberals who are wrong. Plus, since liberals really don't like morals or ethics much, they don't have many ways of getting better.

This is why everything is relative to liberals.

I could go on and on. Watch the talk "How Modern Liberals Think" for more.
youtube.com/watch... It's reeeeal good and explains the Modern Liberal mindset.

Right..it is more noble and more brillaint to reply to sombody calling somebody an idiot by calling them a 'simple mind', all the while convincing oneself of ones superiority.

I love being called a "conservative right-wingnut[s]," but couldn't you have at least put "idiot" in front of, or after, that?

I dare you to listen to Rush Limbaugh for any three hours of your choosing, all at once one day, or split up among many days, and come back here with your "conservative greed" drivel. The Libs are all about immature, adolescent, licentious goals and nothing but dreamers of a utopia that satisfies no one. You are so full of lies. The "greed" goes both ways, I'll agree to that, of course, but the conservative always fights for respectful individual achievement, not your blatant tax the rich and spend on Lib losers to create masses of political organizing ACORN crack head vote-fixing drones. There, that said it.
