From Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales

I'm a volunteer.

I don't get paid a cent for my work at Wikipedia, and neither do our thousands of other volunteer authors and editors. When I founded Wikipedia, I could have made it into a for-profit company with advertising banners, but I decided to do something different.

Commerce is fine. Advertising is not evil. But it doesn't belong here. Not in Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is something special. It is like a library or a public park. It is like a temple for the mind. It is a place we can all go to think, to learn, to share our knowledge with others. It is a unique human project, the first of its kind in history. It is a humanitarian project to bring a free encyclopedia to every single person on the planet.

Every single person.

If all of Wikipedia's 400 million users would donate $1 each, we would have 20 times the amount of money we need. We're a small organization, and I've worked hard over the years to keep us lean and tight. We fulfill our mission, and leave waste to others.

To do this without resorting to advertising, we need you. It is you who keep this dream alive. It is you who have created Wikipedia. It is you who believe that a place of calm reflection and learning is worth having.

This year, please consider making a donation of $20,$35,$50 or whatever you can to protect and sustain Wikipedia.

Thanks,

Jimmy Wales

Wikipedia Founder

This Internet 'fraud' Julian Assange wants to publish a book? On what? My God PBS Frontline, a current affairs program, which relies on declassified Defense Department archives, has shown viewers during the last 3 Presidensies, going back to Bill Clinton's 1992 to 2001; G.W. Bush 2001 to 2009; much more non-fiction racy material, than that wannabe betrayer '60's/'70's Daniel Elsberg "Pentagon Papers" outing ever did, or even Julian Assange tried on Wiki Leak!
The only viewing coverage differences are that PBS is 1} not really watched by the majority of Americans; 2} it's even less viewed by the outside World!

Besides both the Iraq, and Afghanistan conflicts
had wound down when Julian Assange, and his group released all that new Internet portal apparent promotion Wiki Leak site, stuff, came out!

I think that the 'real time' G.W. Bush Administration retaliatory outing of undercover CIA operative Valerie Plane, right in the middle of the Iraq conflict, by Bush Cabinet adviser Armitage, to discredit her attache husband Wilson
was of much greater peril to our Intelligence, than these 'so what?' intuitively retroactive Julian Assange "tempest in a teapot" International intrigues 'snapshots' which PBS Frontline eventually covers very well, and in color to boot!

What is more important is HOW the young currently imprisoned U.S. Army intelligence specialist was able to retrieve all that Pentagon stuff in the first place, and give it to Assange, and his Wiki Leak portal partners! He is the one who ought to be writing a book, for his defense! Not some second rate Scandinavian groupie womanizer!!?

Keep fighting the good fight, Mr. Assange! We're all behind you and your battle with the World Security Net over information transparency!

I will buy this the moment it comes into the bookstores. Assange and Wikileaks deserve our support and respect.

The military/security thugs trying to destroy him deserve rebellion and contempt.

Self editing by any intellectually dishonest monkey 'Wikipedia' portal founder Jimmy Wales,#10 post site, is not even allowed as a student's search engine site in many Private elementary, and secondary schools! In all my attempts to reach that site over the past 3 years on Topix, when referred to by posters, I found it so full of errors, when compared to College/University textbooks on the same subject, that I recommended 'Wikipedia' to be banned from the Internet! Especially when most young Americans of this '30' years generation don't even have one non-fiction book, nor Encyclopedia on their bookshel-
ves!
So 'Dr. Mohammed AL-Saedi Turku, Finland,#10', I'd rather contribute to 'Readers Digest'!! Thank you very much!!

Hopefully his legal fees are ten times that. And he rots in prison.

Sexual predators like him need to be removed from the public for the safety of women.
