Kroger is obviously vying for the business of the "upper crust" people to shop at Barracks Road. Their other C'ville stores are crap, but they're apparently not interested in improving them.

Fluvy Gal you have issues. Kroger has been a great staple in c'ville for many years.

Frank, you been there *recently*? The young kids they have are crap. They have no idea what customer service is. Invariably the cashiers and bag help are carrying on a conversation and can't even be bothered to say, "Hello." The over-40 cashiers are fine, but those young kids are *worthless*.

How odd, in spite of being so terrible they are obviously doing SOMETHING right - after all they are second only to WalMart in the United States. But don't take my word for it, here are the rankings. Interesting (to me) that I have seen similar opinions before; how Kroger can't compete, Kroger is substandard, yatta yatta yatta. Don't let the smoke and mirrors of other chains fool you; Kroger is serious. Now, if they would only teach the self-service checkout cashier not to mysteriously wander away every night at five minutes to midnight.(Know what I mean, last minute beer buyers?)
