he thinks this was a free speech issue? This has nothing to do with free speech. All that the right of free speech gives you is a guarantee that the federal government will not pass any laws that violate your free speech. It doesn't guarantee that if you say or plan to say somethign stupid, people might not like that and some people will shut you up. If one individual shuts up another individual, that has nothing to do with free speech.

It is very important for patriotic Americans to speak out and against the kind out right-wing hate that this pastor and his pathetic church represent. He is the same kind of bigoted idiot that you see at the tea-bagging rallies that loves to watch fox news and listen to right-wing radio.
The 87,000 that showed up for Glen Becks DC rally are exactly the kind of ass-backward Neanderthals that would participate in what we prevented this fool from doing.

Jones has agreed to cancel the burning, as reported by AP.

AP says that he did that in a tit-for-tat move, where the Islamic cultural center in New York City, also the center of a firestorm, would be moved.

Then the AP said that was unconfirmed; meanwhile the New York Times said that Jones would meet with the imam involved in the center, also noting the agreement.

Sounds like this entire AP story is a hoax.

There is a video news conference showing the pastor announcing that he is canceling the burning and flying to New York to talk to the emam on Saturday instead. I don't think that video is a hoax.

I've only seen these conflicting reports. No video yet. Do you have a link?

Would be interesting if these 2 worked out a deal.

This is very serious.

If the far left can censor this church and have them removed from the web then sooner of later Obama could silence all his critics the same way.

I actually saw it as a breaking news story on one of the news channels. It is certain to get plenty of play on all of the stations in the next day or so. Yeah, well if that pastor from Florida was able to move that mosque which is something nobody else could do, maybe he should run for office. I can see it now, pass my health care bill or I burn the Quran. Re-elect me or I burn the Quran. This guy just struck gold. I smell book deal or a spot on the Palin ticket in 2012. But he is going to have to lose the weird stach.

The same amendment to the constitution which guarantees freedom of religion also guarantees freedom of expression even in the form of burning the Quran.

It is not the building a mosque that everyone is upset about, nobody doubts the right to do that, what everyone is mad about is the choice of location. The iman knows good and well that building a mosque at ground zero will upset Americans and that is their point. The preacher in Florida knows good and well burning the Quran will upset muslims and that is the point. They are the same, both actions are divisive.

So much for the first Amendment. What do Democrats care about the Constitution anyway? Only the Muslims get free speech. It appears only the Muslims have any rights at all. The rest of us can sit and watch them take over. Wanna bet? We've had those bast*rds up to our eyebrows, and we will exercise our free speech at the polls November 2nd.

the pastor was conned and lied to.....that's what muslims do......

that's how obama got elected.

All the mulims did was to manipulate the Pastor to be out of town on Sat.

He will find out about the lies on Saturday......he had better take a gun and a body guard.

Careful there Honcho! You stumbled onto the truth and they won't like that. lol

Vote People! Vote Vote Vote and don't let some 'I'll kill crackers and some of their cracker babies' kinda political arm keep you from voting.

In the meantime-perhaps we should buy a book (not burn it). Perhaps we should get our 12yr+ kids a copy of "1984" and let them see what has been happening for the past 2 yrs. It's scary-but I'm pissed so my voice will not be silenced.

Sounds like the pastor needs to fire the burner back up. The iman says he is not going to do any bartering about where to put the site.

I can see a lot more burning of the quran coming down the pike, they are not going to be able to ban them from utube fast enough.

Until this incident I don't think most americans knew it upset them so much

The leadership of the United States has sided with foreign threats against Americans.
The leadership has cowered to terrorist threats and bullies.

obama has once againd sided with muslims against Americans.

It's over people, you have lost your country. The leadership and government of the United States is Americans biggest and most dangerous enemy.

obama is unfit to be President of the United States and to protect Americans

I think the pastor has made his point and it is Obama, Rauf, Bloomberg and Islams reputation that has suffered.

Because the "progressives" have been forced to admit that Islam is a violent religion that answers symbolism with blood.
