I used to think that robbing banks was a big deal, not to mention using a gun to do so, but 12 years for 11 robberies isn't such a tough punishment after all. I'm glad they "threw the book" at this guy :) I'm sure this sentence is really going to act as a deterrent to other potential robbers out there.

They probably had to make a deal with the guy.
"Plead guilty and we will give you a reduced sentence." Yeah they probably really didn't have an airtight case. Lots of time there is a problem convicting the bank robbers, especially when the person has a disguise or the head covered. Witnesses have a hard time convincing a jury they are right in identifying the perp. Probably alot to this story that we won't learn about. And the reason he only got 12 years. He will probably be out in maybe seven or eight. At least (good news for him) when he gets out he won't be noticed as no one could identify him.:)

A white guy robs a bunch of banks with a GUN, and we get only 6 comments; If his last name was even vaguely Hispanic-sounding, we'd have over a hundred angry t.ro.lls saying this guy was "one of them illegulz" and demanding he be executed immediately.

White men in fancy suits robbed this country out of billions of dollars and you don't even seem to care, let alone do anything about it. Now let's go to Target and oh hey look!'American Idol' is on!

So he got just a year or so of time in prison per armed bank robbery? And of course it will end up being less. That's just ridiculous. He made many people fear for their lives. That should count for more. I'm guessing we can expect a lot more robberies with this kind of leniency. It's certainly not the kind of deterrent sentencing we need around here.
