It was nice to see a "positive" story about Doc Hammond on the front page of the Herald this morning. Maybe the Herald could start a trend and make the front page of the Herald for local "feel good" and positive stories like this one. With all the negative and upsetting things going on in the world, all those stories can go on page 2 and thereafter. I bet a lot of people would agree with me. As for the "Doc", I have met him and he is a kick. A very intelligent, wise, ole guy who is a joy to be around. He has stories to tell and can be the life of the party. Yes, I would like to see more stories about people like him. Let's share these charming characters with the rest of the Monterey Peninsula, before they are all gone.

So happy to see a story about Doc and Lucille. Doc's a sweetheart and I'm so glad they're both still perkin' along!

I was fortunate to meet Doc & Lucille when my husband was stationed at the Army Base in Seaside, Ca. & have been in contact with them every since. They are a very inspirational couple.

Doc Hammomd was manager of KMBY when I was Program Director and John Burroughs was the owner. Doc was always a stand up and intelligent guy! This was just after Jay Watson was replaced by Doc. One of the great DJ's at that time was Mark Carrol, whose real name was Robert W. Morgan of S. California fame but now deceased. I only wish Doc and his wife all the good things that life has to offer! I will never forget Doc!!
