PG&E is simply one of the worst utility companies outside of the third world... wind blows over 20 mph, power goes out... antiquated equipment needs to be replaced, power goes out... I'm surprised there haven't been more San Bruno type "accidents".

Our power rarely goes out. I'm sorta pleased with my gas and electricity service. And no - I do not work for PG&E. I think outages might be tied to where one lives.

Are they giving discounts for "kissing up" to them? ;-)

Our gas and electric is rarely over $40.00 in the winter, as low as $25.00 in summer. That sure beats the $300.00/month we paid in upstate N.Y. to NYSEG and we heated with wood, also. Below zero in the winter, 80s/90s and humid in the summer. Plus when the power went out it could be for up to 3 days. No well pump/water/toilets, no lights, no frig. Monterey Peninsula weather is awesome, even when the power is out.
