He is a dyed-in-the-wool tax and spend biggovernment Politician.....and 69% of Santa Cruzans just Love him and keep voting the clown back to tax and spend some more. People in this county dont have the brains to think there might be a better way. They dont know that lowering taxes brings in more revenue. When people have to pay less taxes, they usually buy goods with their extra money....thats good for business and that means jobs. But the stupid 69% have always voted democrat and they just cant change.

So Scam Farr says that national health care will decrease the deficit? He is dead wrong. The fed runs NOTHING that meets expectations fiscally.

But hear me well: We have ONE shot at making good on bringing gov't into line, and that will be by bringing in people to congress who truly oppose such huge bureaucratic programs; then we have to hold the Republican's feet to the fire. Left alone, they will fold up like a cheap suit too, and give in to the 'other side of the aisle'. That must NEVER happen, or the US as we know it is a goner. And I include in this rant guys like AZ's own John McCain, who is only too willing to glad-hand with the Democrats.

Farr is useless, perpetually uninformed about most issues. Career politicians of his ilk are responsible for our nations tragic state of affairs. Time to vote him our of office!

For all the readers who think being "progressive" is hip and cool, consider that nearly all of local "progressives", especially the intellectual types, supported most or all of the regimes who made the "Progress" listed below. Remember all those UC profs with their Mao caps and Serve the people buttons? Remember the UC profs who touted the Bolshie Revolution? Remember the UC profs who were in support of the Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War? And let's not forget the "Che" supporters.

Yes, the whole intellectual and social structure is infested with types who supported the following. But most people don't know this because when their "progress" ends up being genocide, they conveniently want you to forget what they supported.

Progressive types killed tens of millions in China, all in the name of Progress.

Progressive types killed tens of millions in Bol-shevik Russia, all in the name of Progress.

Progressive types killed tens of millions in the Ukraine, all in the name of Progress.

Progressive types killed millions in Cambodia, all in the name of Progress.

When the "little people" don't share the "progressive" goals of progressive elites, the "little people" must be removed to make way for Progress.

If they don't get out of the way, they are "intolerant" of the programs the elites have concocted "for their own good".

Progressives are not the solution, they are the problem.

I have little doubt that Congressman Farr will handily win re-election, safe in his protected Gerrymandered district.

He is a member of the far-left Congressional Progressive Caucus, although Sam Farr is quite a bit smarter and likable than some of the other more infamous members like Congressman Barney Frank, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Congressman Henry Waxman, or Congressman Pete Stark.

Just how far left is the Congressional Progressive Caucus? Well, here is an endorsement from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). See page 3.

"Like our friends and allies in the feminist, LABOR, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, many of us have been active in the Democratic Party. We work with those movements to strengthen the PARTY'S LEFT WING, REPRESENTED BY THE CONGRESSIONAL PROGRESSIVE CAUCUS."

As a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Congressman Farr is practically guaranteed re-election thanks to generous campaign financing supplied by out-of-state political action committees (PACs) of various public-employee and labor unions (highlighted in ALL CAPS).

American Association for Justice (AAJ)$82,000 (formerly known as the "Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA))"
National Association of Realtors $56,250
American Medical Association (AMA)$41,250
National Beer Wholesalers Association $41,000
American Crystal Sugar $36,500
Pacific Gas & Electric Corp.(PG&E)$30,925
Blue Diamond Grower $30,500

See if Congressman Farr's votes match your particular political beliefs.

Sam Farr does excel at bringing home federal pork-barrel dollars (earmarks) to the district, though.

I wish alternative candidates Jeff Taylor, Mary Larkin, and Eric Petersen all the best. I'm praying for a miracle for one of you.

Jeff Taylor (Republican)

Mary Larkin (Libertarian)

Eric Petersen (Green Party)

I also look forward to having our Gerrymandered district redrawn so that it will be more competitive in the future.

Clueless....Never had one real, private sector job...
(sound familiar?)

FARR, Sam, a Representative from California; born in San Francisco, Calif., July 4, 1941; graduated from Carmel High School, Carmel, Calif., 1959; B.S., Willamette University, Salem, Oreg., 1963; attended Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif., and the Monterey Institute of International Studies, Monterey, Calif.; Peace Corps, 1963-1965; staff, California state assembly; member, Monterey County, Calif., board of supervisors, 1975-1980, chair, 1979; member of the California state assembly, 1980-1993; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Third Congress by special election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Leon Panetta and reelected to the eight succeeding Congresses (June 8, 1993-present).

Progressing towards what?
Has SammyFarr or any other "progressive" ever told you what the end goal of their so-called "progress is"? Have you ever wondered about that?
Many people use the word "progressive" like it means "the good people" or "people who care". But how many have ever thought about what the goal of "progressives" is.
There's not 1 in a 1000 who have ever thought carefully about this. Yet "progressive" is a word that "everyone" thinks they know all about. "Everyone" also thinks they "know" that if you aren't "progressive" you are an evil reactionary who is holding back "progress".
This is just plain silly, not to mention ignorant.
Lemmings are maintaining "progressive values" as the follow what "everyone knows" as they trot over the edge the cliff. In the lemming mind, that's real "progress".
Excellent points. May I suggest an article?

"The Golden State’s War on Itself: How politicians turned the California Dream into a nightmare"

Progressives were once a somewhat "good" thing, back in the era of Theodore Roosevelt, but it's been downhill ever since another group hijacked the name. As is describes in the article ...

"What went so wrong? The answer lies in a change in the nature of progressive politics in California. During the second half of the twentieth century, the state shifted from an older progressivism, which emphasized infrastructure investment and business growth, to a newer version, which views the private sector much the way the Huns viewed a city--as something to be sacked and plundered. The result is two separate California realities: a lucrative one for the wealthy and for government workers, who are largely insulated from economic decline; and a grim one for the private-sector middle and working classes, who are fleeing the state."

Who hijacked the "progressive" name? Groups whose previous common monicker would prevent them from being elected, in other words, "socialist."

What Farr and his ilk fail to do is accept and follow the will of the people. When politicians first seek office they vow to act in the best interests of their constituents. Once ensconced in office, they quickly lose touch with the people and live an entitled existence, They listen to their handlers and hold fast to failed progressive ideals.

Sam, listen to the people. Progressive idealism is killing California and driving out the working people who have born the brunt, paying for the pipe dream.

Conservatism is on the upswing and will drive you out of office.

Farr is one of the reasons Congress has a 17% approval rating. He's a big part of the problem and just doesn't get it, because he smarter than all of us.
