In 1975: " According to projections by the National Petroleum Council, natural gas {methane}consumption will double in the next 15 years {1990}, yet domestic production will diminish by 25%. If present trends continue, demand will be more than six times the supply within a few years."
In 1985 projection was 124,900 trillion BTU'S.
In 2010 projection would be 276,400 trillion
BTU'S!! Do the math, and if you even include a
depletion allowance tax, on U.S. domestic sources,
{Gulf, Alaskan..} where is the non-reliance on
foreign sources such as Venezuela, Canada, The Arab States, and Mexico??
Now plentiful domestic coal, and shale oil
can be distilled on the one hand to produce all kinds of CH4 combustible homologues, and on the
other hand steam extracted!! With a depletion allowance tax as incentive!
