I would never pay $4.50 for a cup of water unless i was in a desert and about to die.

I think the Highway Dept decided to cut cost when they installed those lights, as they are generally all burned out by end of summer and the bridge is rather dark at night when I ride home.

I think John Boyle is singlehandedly trying to save the ACT by writing the best articles in the paper (and that is not saying much) because his other writers are so horrible!!

I went to the new "Grande" theatre and was amazed at the refreshment prices.

2 Medium Drinks and a Large Popcorn was $18.00!

Not to mention the tickets 2 were 13.00.

2 for the movie total =$31.00.

I hope it works. The best writers at the AT-C are Karen Chavez, John Boyle, Nanci Bompey, the rest are good too. Newspaper work is so stressful nowadays, we're lucky to have such good people here, it's not like they are paid big bucks. People should quit whining about the paper.

Looks as if its being a while since you have been to the Movies! That's why Ingle's have DVD's that you can rent and watch at Home!.99cent two liter Drink, bag already popcorn l.99. rental 3.00. A major Savings of 25.00 to 26.00 bucks! Oh, by the way you can watch the movie rental more than one time. Good luck with movie going..........

"Real answer: Don't expect a new coat of paint anytime soon. City of Asheville Public Works Director Mark Combs said the city is responsible for those lights and recently replaced several of the bulbs. But with the city in a budget crunch, the faded paint on the black poles likely will have to wait.

“Using an automotive metaphor, we'd like to keep the motor and transmission and tires in good shape, but the paint job and other kinds of cosmetic jobs will have to wait,” Combs said.

Of course, the City Council can approve $500,000 for a new "arts" center down on Livingston Street....
