A good start for Florida. Our state is so energy rich. It's time to stop squandering it and start using it.

Concentrated solar collectors for hot water are 1/3 of the cost of solar panels, and are 60% to 80% efficient. They pay for themselves in about 4 to 5 years. Hot water for a home is about 25% of the energy cost.

There are several companies that have solved the problem with concentrated photo voltaic CPV systems and are expected to have products available by 2008. Their cost and size will be a fraction of existing PV systems.

Simple, banning the incandescent bulbs will allow Governor Christ to meet his goals, and save Floridians millions of gallons a day in water, due to power generation.

Only about 3% of the homes have proper roof ventilation, by simply correcting this problem most home owners would save 15% to 25% on their cooling cost and $1000s in roof repairs. In most cases it cost about $20 to $200 to correct the problem. Visit the Florida Solar Energy Center web site for more information.
