another look into the new electronic inspection: now that they got you on the computer, they can keep up with your miles driven, so as to tax you on milage. i wonder what else is tied in with this new inspection deal. and as for progress energy, my my. that 10% will turn out to be 25%, watch your bill and see, if im not right. we wanted change, well, its started, and im thinking, we wont like it.

You, that voted for obama wanted change, well just wait a few months and the change you will get will be jingling in your pocket...where dollars used to be. I'm going to change power companies...oh wait! There ain't no power company to change too. I'm not going to worry about it, the democrats are keeping watch over the power companies and they lookout for us citizens of north carolina. It's probably patriotic to pay more for energy, just like taxes. Look how much better it's getting, and obama has not even been sworn in, just sworn at.

If Progress Energy is so worried about higher fuel cost, hows about making the people who work for them drive their own vehicles back and forth to work?

Might save them a $ or two. I have no issue with the hard-working guys at Progress Energy, but these are hard economic times. Instead of passing the buck on to hard working people, look for ways to save $ within.

Yes, would like to take this time out while counting my pennies to thank the State Regulators for approving the 10.2% by Progress Energy Dec.1, 2008. That's a find Christmas gift for all of us here in North Carolina. Good timing, just in time for the holidays. Really look forward to 2009 for what the State of North Carolina will do for us......So, back to counting the pennies......
Call your NC democrat Rep and Senator, or email them your special 'thanks'... search NC legislature members at www.ncleg.net

It's amazing that people still are trying to blame the Demcratic Party for their troubles, when the Republicans, led by the US's all-time worst president, have been running the country for the past 8 years. Quit whining.

Jim, this is a STATE issue, the democratic pary has controlled the NC State Legislature pretty much since reconstruction. As much as you may like to think otherwise George Bush had nothing to do with electric rate increases in NC. And at the federal level the democtaric party has controlled the congress for the last two years at least.

Look at how much money the Democrats recieved from progress energy. Funny they change their name to what the Democrats want to be called (progressive) and they start screwing us out of our money. The madness will not end until a armed revolt comes about and the Democrat Reich is taken down.

I find it interesting that not one word of this was spoken about before the elections and only an idiot would believe that this has all happened since the election just three weeks ago. The deomcrats knew they were going to do this, they refused to inform the electorate. I wonder why.
Actually I have a vivid memory of an article on this increase that was posted here months ago. I read it out loud to my husband, who said "wow, that's HUGE". I think that was last October actually, though it could be a bit later- my memory is hazy and I don't feel like trying to use the clunky ACT search function. It simply fell under the radar, I guess people were too distracted by the election hullaballoo for it to stand out.
