As the violence and scum keeps infiltrating Allentown, you can count on more center city stores becoming vacant. It's becoming dangerous to walk around center city even during broad daylight! If the cowardly thugs would grow up and get a REAL job instead of being afraid, maybe some of the crime would diminish.

Several things that need to be done:

Reform welfare with and end of benefit date.
Arrested for anything - you lose your welfare benefit.
Turn all these "home" apt back to houses.
Hold landlords accoutable for their buildings and keeping them maintained.

We need to stop catering to these grubs, leeches and cokkroaches.

allentown is at its worst, I have nothing to go to except the Farmers Market and out. They need to improve the city like Bethlehem and Easton, but what will they do with the people that live there, they are the ones who brought the city down.

DOWNTOWN HAS BECOME A PLACE TO AVOID.

the poor florist said that, and he's lucky the morning call didn't censor it, or the mayor hire goons to work him over for saying it.

You idiots have no clue about business. 7th st has several new businesses. Peter Lewnes of Community Action is doing a great job. If you jerks haven't noticed the entire US is having tough economic times. Businesses are closing all over the Lehigh Valley. I frequent the Allentown Brewworks at night. I haven't been mugged, shot, offered sex or drugs. I've learned that if you treat people good and mind your own business you generally have no problems.

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT first step. Then put the cops out there and keep the groups and double parking move on and pickup some of these pieces of you now what whenever they drop a scrap of paper on the ground. Stop the littering and the graffitti and put the goons in jail.

How does "You idiots" and "you jerks" fit with "I've learned that if you treat people good and mind your own business you generally have no problems?" You must have a baot load of problems!

Special Ed just does not have what it takes to move Allentown back in the direction of an all-American City.

Right or wrong, EVERYONE should agree Allentown has an UNSAFE image.

Until that is corrected, all the tax-fee funding and grants to beer halls and campaign contributors means nothing to the revival of the city.

Random drug testing on any welfare recipient will send the rats packing. Also no Section 8 for a positive drug test on the rats who have moved into the Lehigh Valley. No second chance at all period!!!!!! Move out to where you came from and mooch off another region better yet another state, their state is the state of confusion and drugs.
