I'm disappointed that Liz, took Pepco's word on saving money and left it at that. Perhaps there will be stronger push back when consumers realize that the bulb's are manufactured in China and that they contain mercury, a toxic substance. The bulbs will have to be disposed at the local dump as a "toxic substance". That requires the auto to get it there and dump it. Where is the environmental saving in that. Increased car and gas use, exhaust pollution, and time lost. In addition, I was wondering who will be selling a clean up kit, so that if and when the bulb breaks I can remediate the 'spill' at home and not endanger my health, the health of my family, friends, and neighbors. Just a thought worth considering. Oh, one last thing it was the PSC that fast-tracked passage of the surcharge. Why would they refer people back to Pepco. Other utilities have tried that and have been forced to back down. Get even. Dispute the charge through the PSC. They'll assign a case number and conduct an investigation. You may still have to pay, but- if enough people do that it might send a message to the PSC. So much for going "green". I'm red right now.

I live in NY and I was in Walmart on line paying waiting to
pay for something. The lady in front of me was buying a baby
pacifier and the register girl rang it up and said this came
up as a recall do you still want it? The woman and I looked at
each other and she said NO, I don't want it. Why wasn't it off
the shelf before it got to the register.

I picked up a 25% rebate form at Bed Bath and Beyond for Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers accessories.
They didn't have what I wanted so I purchased the actual accessory at Sears. Which worked out because the rebate form said it wasn't valid at the store where I got it.
WAIT I got a rebate form from a store where it's not valid?
I filled it out and mailed it in only to get a post card back saying my rebate didn't have a valid receipt. No I bought it at Sears so the receipt was ok.
Now get this
Apparently the address on the rebate form was specifically coded to go to the Bed Bath and Beyond rebate center.
Wait once again
Bed Bath and Beyond and Kithcen Aid have printed and distributed rebate forms that are invalid at BB&B but specifically coded to go to the BB&B rebate center?
So If I happen to pick up this form where it is not valid and buy it where it is valid. and send in a valid receipt I don't get my $20 plus rebate because I picked up a rebate form where logically it should have never been because BB&B has no intention of honoring the rebate?
I'm not confused, ripped off definately but not confused.
