This is a joke that Baton Rouge would allow another casino in the city. Some folks get a paycheck and spend it all at a casino. My vote is no.

We do not want a casino in this rural, undeveloped area of historic River Road. This community cannot provide the infrastructure for this type of development nor can it financially sustain a third casino.

The absolute real joke is Pinnacle's unwillingness to cooperate with the local govt or even the local community of whom they want to neighbor. Instead PNK CEO's acknowledged to the GCB on Sept 18th their advertising is misleading by displaying a golf course, spa, shopping, residential community, etc.
Their BIG plans for Baton Rouge only includes a boat in a moat, a down-sized hotel to 100 rooms, some landscaping to an already beautiful historic area, and a whole lot of surface concrete parking lots...Did I mention that they have to re-route River Road?
Pinnacle claims the two existing boats are afraid of "competition" and are the only Opposition. If this is true, then why is Pinnacle afraid to be downtown in the Entertainment District; or tell the voters the truth behind their misleading ads; or even better...stop hiding and become accountable.
Their own web site has the CEO's boasting about revitalization that is taking place downtown throughout many of their locations and how they thrive on the participation and input from the local communities.
You won't see the same "open" arms here in Baton Rouge.
