First let me start by saying that I'm not a gambler...my spouse and I may go to a casino once every 2 years...if that often.

Of course the poll (commissioned by Pinnacle's competition) indicated major local opposition. I can't imagine them reporting major local support, that would defeat their cause. It sounds to me, after everything I have seen (including the commercials that the competition is broadcasting every minute), like those who commisioned this poll are afraid of competition from Pinnacle.

Why is it that I see so many "poll results" on different issues and yet, not once have I been contacted by poll takers? Could it be that a "select" group of people are chosen? Additionally, it would be interesting to see how the question was worded when the poll was taken. A business associate of mine was polled two years ago on an issue and the way the question was worded.... ie. If (person's name) was the only Democrat/Republican in the race would you vote for her/him?.... Because of the wording of this poll question, you were forced to give them the answer that they wanted to hear. If Pinnacle asked questions similar to what their television commercials ask, then I am sure they got the result that they were looking for (ie. If Pinncale Entertainment were to build their casino/facility in a quiet residential neighborhood, compromise our levees, etc. would you support this?) Of course, if you were asked questions such as this...you are obviously going to say no...you do not want Pinnacle to build. I would really like to know what questions were presented by the poll takers.

It sounds like Pinnacle's competition simply wants to continue their monopoly of casinos in Baton Rouge. What quiet residential neighborhood is the competition referring to (in their commercials they make a statement that Pinnacle will build near a quiet residential neighborhood. The neighborhood shown is middle to upper class). Both existing casinos are located near poor neighborhoods...just a short drive down River Road. Do those neighborhoods not count? Were they allowed to damage the levees in Baton Rouge when they built?

I think that people in this state should be allowed to make their decisions based on factual information. If a poll is taken...direct questions should be used...not questions that will give the desired result (as mentioned earlier). After everything that has happened in this state...people are tired of being misled. They want to make sound decisions of their own without the large companies, politicians or the media trying to tell them what their opinion should be. Whether or not Pinnacle builds in Baton Rouge doesn't really concern me...what I am concerned about is that the people who will be impacted (both positively and negatively) are receiving factual information and are allowed to make the appropriate decisions based on those facts.

Correction - Third Paragraph should read:

If Pinnacle's competition asked questions similar to what their television commercials ask, then I am sure they got the result that they were looking for (ie.
