It's that nice PNC gets government bailout money that is suppose to help them give out loans to the common folk but instead they buy National City bank to make PNC bigger. PNC is a disgrace and is another sign why we should not bailout big business. Big business all the while crying help to the government are still seeking out why the screw the taxpayers
Bailout the people who are getting screwed by big business not the greedy ones
Everybody who does business with PNC should pull their accounts from them. I definitely would

Would love to be a fly on the wall when PNC goes through National City's real estate bank portfolio. Wonder what shape PNC's real estate portfolio is in. With real estate bank portfolios down about 40% you now may have one bad bank portfolio instead of two.

The amazing thing is Paulson gave out this bailout money and the banks were not required to tell the government what they did with the money.

Where did the bailout money go?

Bad Loans?

Prop up the banks balance sheet?(net worth)

For executive pay?

No one is auditing where the bailout money went!!!

I was referring to their commerial real estate portfolio that has dropped at least 35-40% in Erie, not their residential mortgage portfolio.

I for one am glad to see National City go, because they were an awful, awful excuse for a bank. They had quite possibly the worst customer service of any non-governmental organization, were as slow as the DMV (no, seriously, go to National City during peak hours--paint dries faster), and charged fees that amounted to extortion. It was absolutely the worst bank I've ever done business with, and it was only a matter of time until they went under anyway.

PNC is absolutely NOT a disgrace, especially when compared to the shithole that is National City (and no, I don't work for either bank, but have used both).

The "bailout" (read: corporate welfare) money on the other hand, is something that I think we can all agree on and that no one is happy with--except Wall Street of course.

PNC = Previously National City

I cannot believe that National City will be taken over by PNC with help of the government. It's a disgrace to the banking industry.
I guess a bank, is a bank, is a bank....but I feel sorry for the employees.

Why would anyone want to bank at PNC when the president of PNC Bank is such a piece of garbage?

We used to deal with PNC.... NEVERMORE! We haven't had too many problems with NC, who holds our mortgage (due to be PIF this year!) If PNC is in control, we will move EVERYTHING out of their grasp.

one of our relatives works for National City mortgage division, bought a huge house in Michigan, and they are quite young. Risky now that NCB is PNC?

She said Rubino is one of her good friends. Now she is planning to have her puppet Schember as Council President to do everything in his power to insure the tire burner gets built. Schember is the definition of conflict of interest. Don’t let the innocent school teacher look fool you. He is a snake and has proven by his actions this past year the public cannot trust him .
