Do you suppose they racially profile?
Do they look for white people and ask them for papers, just because they are white?
Do you suppose the tourists in Canndcoon etc are asked for their proof of citzenship just because they are white?
You know the condition of our economy is such that whites from the US might cross the border for jobs.
According to statements made by President Calderon regarding their immigration policies, I have to assume the answers to your question are "Yes!".

Not going to happen, Mexico's immigration laws are MUCH more harsh than the US...and they actually enforce theirs!
Has anyone told our President this?

When I was growing up and you got in a fight with some other guys and one of your "friends" bailed out on you...we had a name for guys like that. Now I think I'll change that name to...Polarass.

I wonder if they will at least give first hiring preference at the new plant to any current illegal aliens here in the USA. Not the greatest way to get them to self-deport, but it would be a start.

I also wonder if there will ever come a day when legal US citizens will cross over into Mexico for their job opportunities?

Both my Dad and Stepmom work at Polaris and have for the past 20 years. They have four children (two in college) and a year from now, will both be unemployed.
Yes, the workers that made Polaris success possible are going to be abandoned by the company:

We lost our job and making the best of it. Kid's in college got lower rates, using food shelf, growing own food and taking advantage of things from the government I thought I would never do. I don't hope the drug lords take care of Polaris (not saying I want people killed) just run them out like the are running out on us.

So from now on you shouldn't drive a Chevy, Ford, Dodge because they aren't made in USA. Don't go to Walmart and don't buy the computer you're using to blog. Sorry to tell you. The laws in this country are made for people to work for more money than they are worth. Myself included. I love my Victory/Polaris is prefect. I'll buy another. TwoFaced A holes.

Way to go Polaris. Have people that want to work make your product. Not a bunch of feeling sorry for my poor self a-holes. Hope they take all the jobs. People that actually want to work getting jobs, what a concept.

These types of issues are always controversial and upsetting to local residents, but the bottom line is that if you were the owner of a large business and you had a choice between lowering your overhead and moving south or staying in a high tax, high overhead area - you would make the same call. Polaris does 3.2 billion in sales annually - you wont affect their business by boycotting their move on a local level.

Fortunately, you are all able to try new manufacturers now for all your recreational motorsports :) Just dont discount ALL foreign companies because you prefer 'american made' for job purposed.'American Made' products have not been superior for quite some time.

I would love to see a resurgeance of manufacturing in the united states across all business types. As a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the fashion industry, I have seen a lot of businesses move and begin to use offshore production. It does hurt the american economy to produce offshore by reducing the amount of jobs available - however, we are a consumption based society and our current taxation policies make it impossible to product quantity at a profit. At the end of the day, if a business cannot profit, they wont be in business anyway and the jobs will go to no one.
