The sad end to what had been a local success and major employer.

It really said to see the one of the last or maybe even the last of a local company leave stamford. Sad to see it close its doors and move out of the USA. part is staying in the USA and the rest to MEXICO.

Good. I'm glad to see this factory shut down. When I used to live in the Cove we had too much air pollution and I wondered if it had to do with the Clairol plant. Maybe it wasn't them but our proximity to I-95 and South End, but I'm pretty sure the air in the Cove will become cleaner after they're gone. And I hope they get rid of those guards too. They always annoyed me if I wanted to drive too far south Blachley Road. The whole compound was guarded like Supermax.

Oh, Creampie,
It wasn't the air Clairol polluted - it was the water. Didn't you ever see the manhole covers lifted off the street by mounds of suds on Van Buskirk Avenue, as they drained down to the pond in Cummings Park?(Presumably they were dumping mistaken shampoo batches.)

No wonder my hair always smelled so fresh after a swim at Cummings.

I hate when people move close to things and then complain about their existence.

Another corporation leaving Stamford. Clairol has been around a long time and I know quite a few people that have worked there for decades. Hopefully, these employees will be able to find something out there, although with the current high unemployment rate, it's going to be difficult.:(

What do you care, you live in Boston. Stay there, we don't want people like you.

They say urine is good for the hair too. It's more likely that is what you were experiencing at Cummings.

Procter and Gamble hair dye and Brenda Kidd: Clairol Natural Instincts hair color and Clairol Nice n Easy natural black hair dye have made people permanently lose all their hair. People have been left with chemical burns to their scalp. One of the victim’s hairs on her head fell out in large clumps for nearly 10 months. Procter and Gamble offer one of the victims an $8.00 dollar refund and a wig. Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) is a chemical substance that is widely used as a permanent hair dye and is an ingredient in hair dye that causes chemical burns.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
