This is the wave of the future and has its roots back in the 70's with the creation of immense super-size grocery stores and the corresponding demise of the conventional neighborhood grocery store. To grocery shop these days takes planning and lots of time. And God help you find anything if you go into a store other than your "usual". In France they are trying a system where you shop and order off of a web site and then the grocery order is waiting for you when you drive up. You order your groceries without leaving your house and can pick them up on your way home from work or whatever.
