Why can't the Maryland legislators do the decent thing? Why must lobbyists' money sway so many of our elected officials? How is it that we elect lawmakers who seem to have no conscience? What keeps decent, educated people from running for office in this state? Clearly the 23 who decided the hell with the Chesapeake Bay have performed an egregious disservice to their constituents. We can only hope their failure to protect the environment ultimately comes home to haunt them personally at some point. Selfish, uncaring individuals like those legislators apparently only care when something affects them!
